Which I find terrifying. The problem is, people generally only read the blogs that already kind of agree with their preconceived notions. And there's less credibility and ethics established at this point for the blogs. Plus, honestly, a big paper has resources and clout that a blogger won't have. The idea that the responsible journalism we have left are independent, semi-anonymous, fractured blogs is scary. And yet the Times merrily wastes its opportunities instead of actually dealing with the stuff we need journalists for.
