Tee...

A quickie update...I mentioned Constantine, the film adaptation of Hellblazer that will have Keanu Reeves as John Constantine. For the non-believers, I'd like to posit what I call exhibits A, B, and C, courtesy of Super Hero Hype:
Exhibit A (will take a while to open--is HUGE picture)
Exhibit B (also huge)
And, last but not least,

Angela: I can't look away any more.
the two stand there--locked in this moment
Angela: Please...
John looks her dead in the eye
John: You do this, there's no turning back. You see them--they see you. Understand?
later, in John's apartment
Angela: Do I take off my clothes or leave them on?
(a beat)
Angela: John?
John: I'm thinking.

Tee!

Keanu is The Hotness, but what is/was Hellblazer?

also, an oddity -- I looked at that site, and there's a character named Lady Johanna Constantine in the original comic. Now, a friend of mine from an old mailing list used to go by LJC for short, based on that character, but she was from Gaiman's Sandman. I wonder now if Gaiman just nabbed her and put her in a few issues, because I very much remember the Sandman version of LJC, and she looks very much like the first image shown on the comic site.

Yes, that's the same Lady. Not stealing, though, just universe-sharing, I believe.

Believe it or not, you'll need to confirm it with a bigger comic-book geek. I only just got into Hellblazer over here, and that's only the one trade paperback I could borrow from the library. But I really loved it. It's sarcasm and cynicism cubed with magic. If you can make me like magical stories, that's always impressive.

I think you'd like it! It's sooo snarky.
