The Wendy's up by the hospital where I work has Hi-C fruit punch. I had a biggie-sized fruit punch for lunch and I feel allllll happy inside.

I used to get this fruit punch from JJs Place when we'd go down after dining hall hours in school. Way back when, we got something just like it (can't rightly remember if it was the exact same thing or just the same color) when we had vacation bible school in summer. I remember lots of times having that punch-stain lipstick and, when I was older and taught vacation bible school (alongside my mother and my friend Rachel, who's Jewish), I loved to see little kids with juice smiles, too.

Ahh, fruit punch. Maybe if it weren't so hideously sugar-y and worse for my teeth than soda, I could use it to wean myself off diet pepsi. Oh well.

Vacation... bible... school... I'd have positive memories of all the juice and cookies and ice pops if the whole thing didn't seem, in hindsight, like simple indoctrination (and if my mom wasn't always so adamant about me going).

I only remember it being silly and fun. The stickers tasted funny--they were the old-fashioned lickem'-and-stickem' kinds, and there were all these stories about Jesus. Otherwise, it was like any other camp. Crafts, outdoors, workbooks...
