Guilty Pleasures
Feb. 1st, 2006 10:33 amFirst player of this "game" starts with the topic of "Five Guilty Pleasures" & tags five others who must write an LJ entry about their five guilty pleasures as well as state this rule. In the end, you need to choose the next five people to be tagged & list their names.
1) "I love the [decade]" marathons on VH1. I cannot break away from them, even when I've seen them before. The only one I have ever successfully resisted from the first go was "I love the 70s" and that's only because I wasn't alive for any part of that decade.
2) Reading and posting to the GAFF (God Awful Fanfiction) boards. I don't do it so much any more, but I can't take my eyes off the train wreck that is bad fanfic skewered as it ought to be.
3) Game Shows. Particularly old reruns of Super Market Sweep or Shop 'Till You Drop (this is so bad: I am a snob because I don't like the new syndicated versions of these shows, only the old). One of the best is old Newlywed Game reruns. It's amazing how easy it is to tell who is no longer still married...
4) Pretending to be listening to my music and really listening to all the people around me. It's New York, people will talk around you whether you're not paying attention or are, but there's a sort of sneaky thrill to think that they might not know I'm doing it.
5) Buying office supplies I don't really need. Speaking of which, I crave pastel Sharpie markers. I must have them. But, in general, I go into Office Depot/Max or Staples and just start drooling over how organized I could make all this new stuff. It never quite works out at home, strangely enough.
