I was all set to say "Woooo!" when I saw that Sci-Fi's highest rated show is Battlestar Galactica, but who am I kidding? Besides the Stargate twins, what other shows do they have?

As if to prove that making a list of Top 10 Sci-Fi Channel Shows is useless, they included movies in their ratings. No shit, Magma: Volcanic Disaster was #4? Dag, that channel needs new stuff and fast.

Yeah, they really do, I think they should start with bringing back Saturday Anime.

Oh, I used to watch that in the mornings. There were some weird things, though. None of it was very memorable. And I think Cartoon Network's got the lock on anime at this point...

yeah, not to mention Disney taking all the Miyazaki stuff. We need a new series like Farscape. Or picking up Space: Above and Beyond where the series left off. THAT would be real cool.

I think it's a little too late for that at this point.

I watched some of Space: Above and Beyond and honestly, the only thing I remember being really attracted to was the idea of growing soldiers (not to mention the one soldier was really cute, besides). It struck me as a compilation of ideas, not a working premise that would stick.

We definitely need more shows like Farscape though. It's like Family Guy, pushing the envelope until you're not aware of how far we've come because you expect it of the show. Plus, muppets!

Yeah, the tanks were a fun bunch. They also gave them some decent plot development time too. If you want to watch the whole series I could let you borrow it... What? So I have a fairly reasonable dvd collection... Is that a crime?

*Makes a mental note to actually sit down and go through the entire Alien Nation Boxset*

Now that Alien Nation boxset sounds much more interesting.

Yeah, sure, I would watch it again, go through the whole thing.

No, it's not a crime to have a DVD habit, unless your habit keeps you from paying the other bills.

Speaking of, I wonder if my Horatio Hornblower DVDs will be at home when I go...

They make a mint on those crap movies, apparently. Rerunning really bad sf movies is a steady ratings booster, which is why theat's all they ever do on weekends.

I love how the bad made-for-tv moview of the week always stars half the cast of their other shows.

Really? I hadn't noticed that to be the case. I have seen plenty of actors I recognize from other crap-of-the-week films, but not too many sci-fi vets other than those showing up in such earlier shows as Tales from the Crypt or The Outer Limits.

I wonder how come these movies get so much attention? Then again, I was seriously considering watching Mansquito because, dude, the premise is right there in the open...

Wow. I just reread that, and obviously I need more coffee because lordy, lordy! Typos!

Oh dear, typos? I am on not enough caffeine myself after a weekend of not really sleeping enough. Where'd I go wrong? It still looks okay to me.

Be kind to my eyeballs. They strain.

Btw, while we're randomly posting off-topic to each other, I'm gonna try to burn the CD for you of comedy stylings etc and send back Jeeves and Wooster and force my first disc of Invader Zim on you, if you're still interested in that one (otherwise, I can continue to try and not quote it obnoxiously too much).

Wait - did you watch all of Jeeves and Wooster?

My favorite moment is in the pilot when Bertie's trying to get Jeeves to sing and he's saying "ho-de-ho-de-ho, sir" while fluffing pillows. Then when Bertie tells him not to say sir, you can see that he's still mouthing it.

I digress.

::giggles:: I liked that as well.

I've watched half of it, and I've nothing else new to watch tonight, and I have cross-stitching to do, so I'll be watching more besides, I wager.

If I knew how to make sound clips out dvd's, I would totally make my computer opening sound "ho-de-ho-de-ho, sir."
