Things are topsy-turvy
Aug. 3rd, 2003 10:10 pmFirst of all, I'm going to exercise. Get this, me...exercising! Willingly! I'm investigating karate tomorrow. I mentioned this to another Butler Study-Abroad student, and now he's coming along, too! When it rains it pours.
I tried to be all social today. I tried to watch the footy with Amy, but they didn't broadcast the Hawthorne game, the bastards. Hawks lost, but the game was really close, 80 to 84, and Port Adelaide is the best team in the league and the Hawks are all of 10th out of like 18. That's something! For those of you who have no idea what ANY of that means, I'll move on...
Yeah, I tried to be social. Jess invited me to the zoo yesterday. I regret not going in a sense, 'cause I didn't really hang out with her at all, but she's a nice person and someone I think I would really like to hang out with. So, I invited her to the movie I wanted to see today, along with Amy, Lloyd, The Mayor, Riley, and Alicyn. No dice, movie sold out, but the Mayor wanted to do karate with me, so that's still good.
Also, I think I'm signing up for a singing short course, just to get me pipes back in shape. It's eight weeks, and I think totally worth spending time on. I'm also scraping together what to do with my time, ahhh!!
Okay, must pull self together.
Oh, the family called--they're on their way to the warm part of the country, lucky bastards! They were a bit bedraggled, their flight stopped in Auckland, then up to Brisbane, and they had to catch a flight to Cairns from there. But they're still going to the barrier reef before me, so I reserve the right to a righteous pout. I'll see them Friday night, probably for dinner, then we might go to Philip island all together which will be fun.
And the list of things to do gets longer:
1) Buy Writing reader...that makes no sense to me
2) Get computer-usage and copy-machine cards...yay, more bulk to my wallet!
3) Arrange appointment to discuss flights to New Zealand
4) Work out trip to the Great Ocean Road
5) Think of things to do with Carrie in and around Melbourne, including Tasmania
6) Order tickets to "We Will Rock You"--most excellent idea yet...
7) Call PADI center, check prices for dive certification
8) Arrange for dive medical...
9) See Kate again, make plans for Matrix double-feature
10) Arrange another outing with Lloyd for the weekend
11) Buy more postcards (Psst, addresses people! Just send them to me even if you think I have them; Michelle, your zip code is...?)
