Everyone was super. I got an awesome set of books from Pooch and Adele; one was Douglas Adams' biography, the other a book of useless Japanese inventions that we all paged through at Dallas BBQ laughing our asses off. Also, Dallas BBQ? Crowded as hell! We must have overloaded their system, too, since there were drink mix ups, food delays, all that jazz. At one point, they ran behind on extra shots and a glass of just the test-tube shots came to our table. Liz gave me her gift there, too, a Jem and the Holograms shirt which fit nicely and is perfectly weathered so it looks vintage. Awesome. Michelle and Ben got me iTunes bucks, which, as soon as I learn how to use iTunes, I'll probably spend in a snap. Highlights of the BBQ part of the evening:
-Michelle rubbed hot sauce on my nose
-Passing wings over the plate of the vegetarian
-Secretively pouring straight-up vodka into Liz's glass

Pooch, Adele, Liz, Heddy, and theKathy went home after dinner, but it was muchos cool of them to come, so I *guess* it was okay they had to go... ::sniff sniff:: Liz gave me an awesome call back later so, aaaaaaayyyy to that. I had forgotten my camera, so Jay, Lizza's friend, ferried me, Lizza, and Jane up to my apartment for it. Woo....no offense, Lizza, but he drives like a crazy person! I was really, really glad to get a ride home from my brother after karaoke.

Darryl-brother came to karaoke! With the Carrie! It was much enjoyable! I sang some fun songs with him because there are some songs that only family "get" as in they're long-standing jokes (Darryl singing Britney for example, I shoulda picked "Baby One More Time"), and o'course he could sing Metallica. My first knowledge of anything about Metallica was Darryl telling me I had to leave the house because I didn't know the name of the lead singer (James Het...Hetfield? The meaty one from Metallicops, right?). We all sang like crazy people, and, perhaps most importantly, lost Julian her karaoke virginity. I sang like crap and mostly just shouted. If this were Karaoke Revolution, I'd be Liz M. But we did all good standards, ending with, of course, Bohemian Raphsody, made better because we actually had a lighter on us, or Darryl did.

Speaking of lighters, something I regret about last evening was returning to my old ways, and by 'old' I mean two years ago. I snuck out with Darryl for a cigarette and hadn't even been two seconds done with it before sniffing under my fingernails to see if it was smelly yet (it was). This morning, of course, despite brushing a lot, my mouth tastes thick and ashy, so I will vow once more not to have another cigarette ever ever. Darryl drove us back up, saw the apartment, got some cheesecake and went up to Scarsdale to go golfing with my dad. I chatted with Carrie and Eugene until I nearly fell asleep in our butterfly chair. All around, a perfect evening.

THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO CAME! I HAD AN EXCELLENT TIME AND THANK YOU FOR BUYING ME DINNER AND KARAOKE! WOOO!
