Super-Size Me was fun, though I agree with [livejournal.com profile] feiran that the director/star was a little too annoying of a person to really rally behind him. He did manage to set up his film such that a lot of the questions I was asking to myself in ponderous wonder were answered, so, kudos to that. I give him credit for knowing the obvious questions had to be answered, and his ability to mitigate the harsh results in a realistic fashion--for instance, not damning the girl who only ordered fries at a cafeteria as a fat-chewer because she probably had a real lunch back at her seat. The guy who he interviewed, however, who thought we should heckle fat people like we do smokers? TOTAL ASSHOLE. Unlike smoking, being overweight or having a predisposition to being heavy cannot be helped sometimes--there will always be people who will stay heavier than ideal/average even with recommended diet/exercise. Smoking, on the other hand, you do to yourself. Your personality might be addictive and make it worse, but your genes did not make you more likely to smoke...

Didn't make me stop wanting McDonalds or any fast food, really. I find it funny that the McNugget is the most disgusting mish-mash of stuff and that was all I could eat for years because my older brother thought it would be funny to tell me the workers at McDonald's spat on their hands before they made burgers (just mine, naturally; his were fine), burgers that contained a fair portion of mouse heads and rats' tails. Oh well, I was never in danger of going back to nuggets now that most places have those chicken strips, which are actually meat-like under the fried skin.

What the movie did do was make me feel fat and out of shape. Playing Dance Dance on workout mode did not change this feeling, but at least I did something. I'm going to walk some this weekend and I'm going to start walking part of the way home from work when the weather is more reliably warm...
