Appliances have arrived at the new place! Appliances! Meaning, when I go home tonight, I can store a bottle or three of water so I can alleviate some of the frickin' heat! Woo!

Still haven't gotten any mail. Not sure what this means except that we haven't gotten our lease. I cannot fathom why the realtors have to mail the leases (legal issue?). I just returned a Netflix DVD, though, so a new one should be in the mail by about Friday. If I don't get it, then I start worrying about not getting any mail.

Speaking of Netflix, I rented Red Dwarf and watched all of it last night (I find that it's better to ingest BBC shows quickly like that, as they tend to build on what's come before, and it's easiest to keep track that way). It's funny, don't get me wrong, but I have yet to figure out why [livejournal.com profile] saikogrrl, much as I adore her, is so fascinated by it. It seems to me the attraction is Lister being a gross idiot and Rimmer reacting to it with horror and snappy one-liner insults. That's fine, that's pretty much why I watch House, after all, but Rimmer is so unlikeably annoying himself as to make it less funny a lot of the time. Holly's a laugh and a half, and the Cat scares me, but other than that, I enjoyed it. I'll rent the next few seasons if it stays consistently amusing.

But my next DVD in the queue is Bloodrayne (I moved it back up, 'cause, you know, stupid), and I'm in need of something that requires a good deal less thinking about what's been said than another season Red Dwarf. And I am confident Bloodrayne requires almost no thinking at all.
