Update of update-y goodness!
Aug. 13th, 2007 11:19 am80% off sales on shoes are made of win. That's why I went home with five pairs of shoes this weekend from Filene's Basement. Hooray!

Dress shopping for weddings is incredibly stressful. Not only is the bride being forced to pick ZOMG THE DRESS, but the fittings for the bridesmaids are just as stressful. Also, it was hard to breathe for me. Because things that fit nicely everywhere else fit lousy across my chest. This is partly due to the cup-size, but is, in fact, more a fault of my broad shoulders and big bones. I had to pinch my shoulder blades together to get some of the dresses zipped shut.

I got free stuff by ordering crap at work! I'm enjoying the peanut M&Ms right now!

Speaking of work, the kid is still here and still unable to recognize papers that contribute nothing to his project as being irrelevant on a works-cited list. There was also this bizarre exchange over Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire:
Him: You're reading the same book as me?
Me: ...I guess?
Him: Why?
Me: ...because I'm reading all of them?
Him: How come?
Me: ...because I haven't read all of them?
I didn't say that I'm re-reading them because I hadn't reread Harry Potter since the last one came out and it's otherwise been years since I looked at them. Also, I'm not actually sure I ever read the fourth book or even all of Order of the Phoenix. I had both on audiobook, and, at the time, that's what I subsisted on. Still, I don't quite get why my reading choice should be such a mystery. And why it should be so strange that someone would want to read all of a set of serial as opposed to just the one smack dab in the middle. Or why you don't assume that most people are reading something because they haven't read it yet...
If he weren't so clueless, I'd have said he was trying to relate or something, find a common interest. It pains me to turn on someone who takes pleasure from something I do, but I wouldn't be friends with this kid if he actually attended Hogwarts. And had his own TARDIS; knew the difference between a Viper and a Raptor pilot; could quote The Matrix backwards to forwards...
