trinityvixen: (kitteh!)
I put Wally alone in the kitty room with water and wet food. As I went to leave this morning, I heard what sounded like the familiar ding-ding-dings of a kitty ID tag smacking against a plate. Dare I hope that he's going to eat the wet food finally? [livejournal.com profile] darkling1 had put Oscar away this morning because Wally seemed like he might be interested in the food. (If he didn't pounce on it, Oscar would have, hence his being put away.) He didn't, so I gave it to him manually again but not all of it. He kept sorta reinvestigating and sniffing really carefully, so that's why I gave it another go. We'll see how he does.

Of course, he would finally break down and eat it right as we're going to the vet ready to tear hair out. We'll still take the more appetizing stuff. If it's not as corrective as the s/d food we have, we could try mixing the two prescription foods. They also have prescription dry food, which would be a load off my mind if I have to ever leave them without wet food for a bit.

I have decided to only ever adopt demonstrably piggy kitties in the future. I would never have this problem with my Oscar. He's been perfectly amenable to the change in dry food and regularly licks Wally's plate of prescription food clean. I love Wally dearly, but no more kitty gourmands, I swear.

The IMDB is now streaming movies! I was so bored yesterday, I set up Weird Science to watch, but I got distracted by reruns of The Daily Show and The Colbert Report. Still! Movies! Ones I've even heard of!

My new plan is to watch 365 new movies in one year. The more places I can stream them from, the easier it will be to accomplish this. Stupid Netflix and their not streaming to Macs!!! ::shakes fists::

Tell the North Shore Animal League to stop sending me e-mails. They keep sending e-mails about puppies and kittens they've rescued, and this shit eats me up.

They just sent a picture of a kitten with one eye who looks almost like my Wally. He's all gray, with big ears and he's sticking one paw out like Wally does some times. He's also shown in one picture with a collar around his neck. This is the last thing I need to see after I just had to see Wally, similarly trussed, in the hospital. Worse, his name is Willie. TOO CLOSE FOR COMFORT.

I want to adopt this kitty, needless to say. I want to huggle him and squeeze him and let him know that people aren't all dicks and don't care about him. I care! Le sigh.

This is just not a good idea.

You want proof the providers are evil? THEY ADMIT TO IT. )

I seriously cannot believe that a group of rich-ass bastards is so cheap. No, I take that back. After all the financial institutions collapsed this and last few weeks, I can believe that. I just can't believe we're still not looking into this robber-baron behavior.

Fuck yes.

It doesn't have to be white privilege. Privilege is just as insidious in any form, but because our country's class imbalance skews along color lines (predominantly, though, of course, there are exceptions), it often manifests as racial.

Read the whole thing because it's brilliant.
