My new mission in the new apartment is to winnow down my collection of unopened DVDs. I have a DVD buying problem, I am aware of this. I don't tend to buy things I haven't already seen plenty of times (last DVDs I bought? Season 1 of Futurama, Spider-Man, and the Family Guy movie), so there's no "MUST WATCH MOVIE NOW" impetus there. A lot of these movies I just pick up after they've gone down in price enough for me to justify the needless expense (Spider-Man was $5--FIVE DOLLARS). Then they sit on my shelf until I get nostalgic for them.

No more! I've been looking at the suspiciously high number of DVDs on my shelving that have yet to be unwrapped, and realize that the unwatched DVDs are taking over. So, it's time to watch Dodgeball again, and Clue (won't that be a ridiculous evening?) then switch over to Alien vs Predator or Serenity or another disc of Futurama.

Besides those, I have also DVDs that my old roommate opened to watch but I never did, like the entire first season and two-thirds of season 2 of Farscape. I need to rewatch that series so I get motivated to buy the rest of it. Oh, and I haven't opened The Peacekeeper Wars yet. Oh dearie my.

And then there are all the DVDs that [livejournal.com profile] darkling1 kindly burned for me, most of them being Smallville episodes from last season. I popped in one last night and promptly laughed my fucking ass off. Okay, so I missed the season pretty much where Chloe finally told Clark she knew he was superpowered, but I knew that she knew, and I knew that he'd lost his powers in that season at some point. My entry into last season of course had to be the one that opened with Clark and Lana in bed together (GROAN) though, as TWoP put it, having teh sex apparently turned Lana into a person instead of a whiny bitch (self-same cannot be said of the superhero). But that whole opener? Priceless. I laughed and laughed when they got caught by the Kents, who were clearly too used to their son being superpowered--they never figured out how to have the sex talk with him. Lana doing the walk of shame. Chloe coming in amidst Clark's being disciplined/guilted. God, I'm giggling madly here. I'll even watch the next one, even if it does have Aquaman.

It was so good at being silly, it made the Lois and Clark episodes that [livejournal.com profile] feiran and I watched after seem not as good. A-mazing.
