Okay, this strip is why I think Foxtrot is so endearing He's poking fun, but he's also clearly a geek (he admits to be playing WoW, for those on my f'list who care, i.e. not me).

I think I'm going to go put all of the Foxtrot anthologies on my Amazon wish list. It really is a funny strip, and I still remember the ones from when Episode I and The X-Files Movie came out. They aged well.

I heart Foxtrot. I have the feed to my flist. I'm a much bigger fan of the whole LOTR threads, as well as the clever math jokes (Bill Amend was a math major in college).

There are only 3 newspaper comic strips I read on a regular basis: Dilbert, Get Fuzzy, and Foxtrot.

They're all so cute. I found one on my calendar the other day where the sister ate like thirty popsicles. It was me! I couldn't believe it--I shared something in common with the anti-geek sibling in the strip. It's really brilliant.

I loved Dilbert, mostly for the pet-bert animals--Dogbert, Catbert, and Ratbert. I never worked in an office, but the office humor appealed, too.

And Get Fuzzy is a less gentle Garfield, so that's fun, too.

At the beginning of one of the anthologies, he says he loves being a cartoonist because it gives him such great excuses. Like being able to play video games for 3 days straight and tell his wife he's trying to get into the mindset of his teenage characters.

Point out to the WoW-ers on your list that for the whole week of July 10 the jokes were Jason gold-farming in "World of Warquest" to sell it on ebay.

Hah! That is the life. Man, now I'm terribly jealous, more so than I was already of a guy who can make a living on drawing comics.

I saw that, but given the warm response to the strip, I can almost see that I dont have to tell anyone what's been going on :)

I've worked in a couple offices now.

I read Dilbert, but without passion. I feel like most of his jokes are pretty repetitive. I also think the difference is that you don't really care about the characters much - the characters in Foxtrot or Get Fuzzy are generally silly, but every once in awhile face genuine moral dilemmas or have something happen to them that pulls your heartstrings. Whereas in Dilbert, the characters are repeatedly subjected to pain, but you don't really feel it.

I like their pain, but I hear you on the repetitive-ness. Still, whenever Catbert is evil, I get to purring at the same time :)

The next May Movie should be The Ideal Pancreas: Part 3.

I got into Dilbert back in the earlier days of the strip when Dilbert had a life outside the office. Scott Adams has fallen a bit victim to his own success, I think.
