In news entirely unrelated to politics or other such stuff:

My older sister called. She's having a baby girl. She just found out today. I think she's ecstatic (she sounded very happy at least) because I know she's been worrying about having a boy first, given that her husband, the oldest child and a boy was something of a destructionator as a kid (he made napalm, enough said). I have yet to talk to her in on the phone (I only got the voicemail) but I can't wait to.

Now if only we can figure out how to get my brother-in-law to abandon "Fang" as a name...

Hurray! Congratulations to your sister!

Cheers! I finally talked to her. She's bubbly and happy and in love. I'm happy to hear it.

YAY, niece!

Totally. And the name they like best so far is Cassandra, though I might be able to persuade them to Kassandra (because I'm a snob).

Why, you don't want her to be a great seer?

[identity profile] trinityvixen.livejournal.com 2006-08-01 02:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Kassandra was the the seer. Cassandra is no longer the correct spelling for that character, or so I've been told.

Cassandra is a lovely name. Why would you want the K variant instead?

[identity profile] trinityvixen.livejournal.com 2006-08-01 02:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Because that's the more correct form of the Greek, I believe. But it's not like I'd care either way. Whatever her name is--short of Fang--I'm sure will be lovely.

Hey, all things being equal

Gender doesn't have any real impact on the destructive capability of a child =-รพ So she can end up a pyro-industrial-combat-machine just as much as a boy (more so under the right conditions) ^_^

Regardless, Congrats Auntie ^_^

Thanks. And, yes, I'm still worried. My brother-in-law swears that she'll get the same "training," and this is from the boy who lost his eyebrows more than once.

On the plus side, as I told my sister last night, she's gonna be one hell of a video gamer chick.

Yay! Nieces are the best! Far better than having your own kids: wind 'em up and send 'em home. :)

This is completely my philosophy. You have given it a motto. I ::SIDEWAYS HEART:: you.
