trinityvixenI'm not sure how much of an impact it will have on China, but, hey, every little bit helps.
This is an incredibly important, even if it seems random, step to take. This isn't hippie bullcrap, this is plain old disgust for what's going on with the fishing industry. It's fucking animal cruelty. I don't believe that eating meat is murder, that killing animals for human consumption is murder.
This, though, this is murder. When you fish out the shark, cut its fins off while it is still alive and then toss it back into the ocean to die, you are murdering the animal. There is no call for that. It's a goddamned disgrace. It's disgusting. It's a needlessly awful way to kill by the thousands a slowly-reproducing animal (that, as has been discovered recently, isn't hiding secret numbers in the depths beyond the fishing trawler's nets), get rid of the bodies, and come back with only the pieces that are wanted. Fucking waste. Fucking crime.
