Don't give Whedon all the credit...

Because I firmly believe that Nathan Fillion is responsible for some of the more interesting line-reads in Firefly/Serenity.
darkling1,
feiran, and I watched Slither last night, and man, that movie is disgusting but also hilarious. Really, I'm not sure I could watch it twice for the squick-factor (and I'm someone who routinely digests--no pun intended--zombie movies as part of her movie diet) because it really is that gross, but I kind of have to see it again some time just to catch all the goofiness. They make saying "shit" and "fuck" into high comedy. Line delivery iskey, and I think that Slither got that across pretty well.
But goddamn was it sickeningly gross. It doesn't help that it taps all the psychological fears--infection, monstrous birth, zombification--that already make me squirm. Add to that Michael Rooker (AH!!! SOOO CREEPY!!!) and a bunch of slimy slugs, and ::shudder::. I'm laughing and throwing up at the same time.

Date: 2006-10-25 05:18 pm (UTC)Ok if you have a fear of snakes, slugs, and other things that move around without legs I can see how this movie might not be so fun. Esp with a couple hundred of those things crawling over a few of the characters. Did you catch some of the deleted scenes? Oh man I fell over laughing with the "filing system".
