trinityvixen: (need a hug)

This episode didn't make me cry. It just reduced me to anxious callings out. I wanted to remind Mr. Bennet at every awful turn--and I did--that I loved him best of all the Mr. Bennets (and that is saying something, given how indisputably awesome Mr. Bennet from Pride and Prejudice is). I just kept saying it aloud: "You're my favorite Mr. Bennet. I love you!" My roommate obviously thinks I'm nuts at this point (as if she ever had any doubts on that score).

If there was any way to make Mr. Bennet even more my wubbie, I can't think of it. They covered all the bases: the cold professional brought into warmth and love, the fall from grace of the once-proud, the sacrifices gladly made for love, the boundaries of friendship (CLAUDE!!!! WAAAAHH!!!!!), love separated and forcibly held apart. It's not possible that I be any more upset about this. It's just not. I want to hug Mr. Bennet until his ribs crack. I even kind of love Claire because she finally figured out what most of fandom's known for a while: that Mr. Bennet might not always be right, but his intentions are. Always. And she's really pissed me off with her spitting in her father's face (the whole "you're not my real father" card is especially heinous given how "loving" her biological father has been--in her experience, I mean---DON'T HURT ME, [livejournal.com profile] linaerys!!!), so that's me being brought around like nuts.

::FLAIL::

-The thing about a really good episode? It makes previous episodes that seemed pointless make more sense and have more purpose. Suddenly, it's not just a waste of my life to have George Takei on this show. Because he is no better than Mr. Bennet. That stupid, pointless bit where Mr. Nakamura tried to get Hiro to go back to Japan and put his nose to the grindstone? That's Bennet trying to mind-wipe Claire and his family so that they wouldn't know she was super. I hope to God Nakamura-san gets his, too.

-Who was Claude protecting? My guess is it wasn't his late protege. If I had to guess, I'd say it was the Haitian. Bennet didn't know the Haitian wasn't mute. I'm guessing Claude worked it out. And this is why he, in turn, is saving Claire at great personal risk to himself. Claire to the Haitian, the Haitian to Claude, Claude to Peter, aaaaaand we're back to that inevitable bomb of the extended Petrelli family reunion. There's the problem of the Haitian not having been hidden, though. I wonder if it's Hiro? Interesting...

-Why the hell would this company or whatever want anything to do with Matt Parkman? I give Matt props here because this, after his brief stint as a body guard, was him at his least useless. But he still is mostly useless. With a little training, he might get slightly more subtle. Maybe. But the whole "ZOMG HE CAN TELL WHAT PEOPLE ARE THINKING" has now been proved to have a threefold weakness: a) he can only read thoughts if people are thinking, b) he can't understand any language he doesn't already know, and c) he cannot project his thoughts (or will) upon others. These are severe limitations. I dunno how they're going to wipe his memory or rewrite his brain to make him more pliable without the Haitian guy around, but maybe that's what the new chick is for.

Not surprisingly, Matt made all the wrong decisions again and yet seems to have gotten away with, well, murder. He needs a mindwipe and an upgrade. He and Ted also need to get their shit together because they both have Memento disease. Matt had his evening ruined when he met the Haitian and Mr. Bennet, but he fucking remembered being able to hear thoughts, so he damn well knew that Mr. Bennet hadn't made him that way. Ted's a little fucked up in the head, so I give him a pass on remembering that, but Matt, really: wise the fuck up!

Damn Heroes being on Mondays. Makes me have to wait for the worst day of the week to get my fix. That was probably one of the best previews they've had so far.

Awesome Thing the First: NATHAN FUCKING PUNCHING JESSICA IN THE FACE
Jesus sweet Christ....YES. Jessica may be a billion times better than Niki, but there's nothing that irritates me about her that couldn't be solved with a punch in the face. Also? That's fucking hilarious. Nathan continues to prove that the greatest threat to his chances of being elected to Congress is himself. Her reaction should be awesome.

Awesome Thing the Second: Mohinder dicking around with Sylar's brain
That's a surprising twist, isn't it? I wonder how teaser-ish this is. Like, this isn't going to be the "Mohinder wakes up to the fact that he's traveling (sleeping) with his father's killer and a psychopath" moment. This is actually going to be him trying to cure Sylar of whatever brain fever he's got this time around. Maybe he'll notice a bit of bruising where that white thing was sticking out of his skull when he was imprisoned by Mr. Bennet. At that rate, he should wise up come the season finale.

Maybe.

Awesome Thing the Third: Simone--not dead!?
Because I don't think it's really Simone. Really, if Simone ended up being a super after the crap she threw in Nathan's face the week before about "people like you," I will really hate that woman (as is, I just find her mostly useless damsel-in-distress/faithful girlfriend material, which is annoying but not hate-worthy). I want it to be a shape-shifter, a notably missing superpower thus far on the show. And, yes, okay, fine, it was kinda fucking hot and kinky that she was all bloodied up and goes, "Want to shoot me again?" DIRTY!

I didn't even miss Sylar. Much. Though the face he was making in the preview was to die for funny. Almost as good as his "Sylar? WHERE OMG!?! HE IS GOING TO EAT MY BRAINS!" to Mohinder last week. Cheee!
