[livejournal.com profile] linaerys had this up, and I absolutely had to do it, too: (I changed names to protect the innocent and reflect mine own crazy tastes)

Ask me any question about any character you know I write, and I'll come up with an answer. Who did Bruce Wayne take to the prom? What kind of shampoo does Mal Reynolds use (to make his hair so very lovely and fluffy)? Which bones has Trinity broken in real life and in the Matrix? Ask, and I'll answer.

Just one catch. I get to ask you a question, too. But because I'm nice, I'll let you tell me who I can ask it about.

OK...you asked for it and I'm home on a Saturday night, so:
When was the last time Wash saw his father?

And as for me, you know the fandoms I write.

What planet does Jayne plan to settle down on and why?

You've already asked me a question, which I haven't answered yet (because I think it might inspire a little ficlet) but you're welcome to ask me another.

Oh mighty Trin, I have to keep up with the firefly theme here...

Tell me what caused Kaylee to have her super girly side.

Ooh, I got a lot of Firefly questions here. Yours is first, so off I get.

Wash's dad operated search and rescue boats, and for Wash's eighth birthday, his dad took him out to learn the finer points of navigation of the same only to find out his son had quite the appreciation and skill for it. It soon became the plan to send Wash to flight school when he was eligible. Money being tight, the best his father could manage was a crazy scheme to fake his own death at sea and allow his "widow" to collect the insurance money to make flight school a possibility.

The last Wash saw of his father, he was responding to fake call of distress from which he never returned. Wash found out about the plan later in life, but as his mother never heard from his father again, neither of them know whether or not he actually perished in faking his own death.

Whew. Cheerful! Your question: Lancelot's primary weapons are a pair of short swords; what does he use for back-up/stealth purposes to dispatch enemies?

Keen!

Jayne has managed to set aside a small portion of his money from most of his jobs--his tastes run to the cheap, so his liquor, food, and pleasurable company budget fairly low. This is saved with his mother, the only person he trusts with the money. When he gets a bit too slow for the mercenary business, he's got his eye on a piece of property in Hatcher's Creek, a dry but pleasant settlement on Santo. He intends to set up a bar there, hiring on young men (like he himself was) to play at bouncing unruly customers whenever it is he isn't up to the task himself. On the sly, he'd offer safe haven/place-of-business to smugglers and the like in exchange for his purchased promise that they would be anonymous and shielded from prying eyes.

The reality will be that he'll end up running a piss-poor saloon and enjoying his own product enough not to care when, some long-off day from the start of business, he finally just doesn't wake up in the morning.

Heh, forgot to ask you another question: We know what Mama Petrelli has done for Claire, but what provisions has she made to protect her grandsons (cheater second question: what abilities would they have?)

Kaylee has three older brothers, the last of which is at least nine years older than her. Through sheer necessity, born of being one of a low-income family, Kaylee spent most of her toddler days running around in the hand-me-downs from her brothers and ignorant of any significant difference between her and them.

Her oldest brother made her an aunt at five, and his wife and he, having a bit more money than her parents, were better able to afford dresses for their daughter. Instead of dressing up dollies, Kaylee was allowed to put her baby niece into the strange, floofy costumes and pull her hair back into pigtails. She picked up, watching the reactions of both mother and grandmother to the baby, that this made the baby especially precious, and she just started to apply the same to herself. Much to her surprise, as useful as overalls were, there was a lot to like about skirts.

Would you hush!? I have no idea where you get this. I tell people you think so and they're like, "You're Kaylee...how exactly?" Sheesh.
