I totally have Scully hair, y'all!

So I went upstate quickly to my mom's favorite hair-cutting lady and when I got there I just really wanted what I'd gotten last time. I mistakingly gestured to a point just below my chin, thinking that that was about how long the front pieces had been last time. I quickly corrected it and said that I wanted to be able to pull my hair back, and that it should brush my shoulders.

Well, it does brush my shoulders. If I, you know, lean to one side. But it does still look super cute. My sister and mother looked a little horrified by how short it ended up--my fault! I can't expect her just to remember how long it was from seven months ago, especially when I don't really correct her. And I can, technically, pull it into a little bitty ponytail stub. I don't think it's as cute as it was the last time she cut it, but I still like it well enough. And it's only hair. It'll grow.

Pictures later whenever it is I get home. Because of traffic coming back into the city, I got in about half an hour later than I wanted. Oh well. Back to work with me.

Oh, I'm sure you're still gorgeous. Now, in my humble opinion, just about all women look better with free-flowing hair, and look worse with a ponytail. I understand the practical reasons for pulling one's hair back (I have experience with long hair myself), but on purely aesthetic grounds I think hair should be freeee.

I appreciate the vote of support. Not to worry, I'm vain enough about it already to make me think I have nothing to fear. It'll just be different. I haven't had it this short since fourth grade.

This is partially true. I miss my long hair all the time but I have to remind myself that with hair as flat and thin as mine it didn't look as good in reality as in theory. TV has thick hair, which looks good no matter what. YOU BITCH.

Hmm, I think you mean to say "BITCHES," otherwise it sounds like you're calling me a bitch. Then I'd have to retaliate by posting a pic of a cute kitten or something. (Don't think I'll do it? Just try me, little man!)

Oh boy! FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT!

I don't have as thick as I used to, actually. It got very thin from being long, hence cutting it to keep it short for a while. My youngest sister cut her hair once as short as I've just done, and it poofed like an afro because her hair is about twice as thick as mine. No lie.

And I think Matt's point still applies to you. You look really good with your hair down around your face.

Yay Scully hair! I think it works for a lot of people--I know I liked it when I had it (esp. red!) and I bet it looks adorable on you. :D

So long as I brush it out like she did, it'll look okay. It'll probably be a tad flat most days. But yay! I can go back to abusing hair care products! (once it was long enough to pull back, I stopped bothering)

I think most people look best with balls over their eyes.
