Going slightly mad?

I had a dream in animation last night. I literally dreamt about the ending to Disney's Cinderella. OMG spoilers, but you know the scene where, after all the struggle on the part of the mice to get Cinderella out of the locked tower so she can try on the slipper the Duke is bringing around? She comes running down the stairs and sits to try it on, but as the guy with the glass slipper comes running over to her, the wicked Stepmother trips him, and the glass slipper shatters. The Duke despairs, crying over the slipper and then Cinderella brings out the other slipper, and she fits it and happily ever, much to the horror of the Stepmother?

Well, here is the ending as viewed by my subconscious. The Duke is crying over the slipper being broken. All dialogue was direct from the movie except the part in bold which denotes my bold re-invisioning of that scene.

Cinderella: Well, perhaps, if it would help... (she goes to remove the other slipper from her pocket)
The Duke: No, no, no, nothing can help now!
Cinderella: But you see, I have the other slipper.
(The Stepmother is aghast--very famous look of horror on her face as the Duke kisses the slipper and puts it on Cinderella's foot.)
Cinderella: (Looking up triumphantly at the still-shocked Stepmother) That's right. I have the other shoe, bitch.

That's one you won't see on the special edition DVD folks.

That's it. If we ever have a Disney movie party, I hereby declare this to be the new ending, to be recited by all in attendance. AUDIENCE PARTICIPATION! It worked for Rocky Horror!

I <3 the ending in Ever After. I saw that in the theater way back and everyone in the audience kind of just went "Oooh. Burned." :p

I have movies to contribute to Disney watching parties. I had been collecting them all, but gave up when I switched to DVD and would have had to start REcollecting them all.

I've been collecting them all as I go along, snatching the ones they threaten to take away, especially. I've missed some of the great ones of the early 90s, but they'll come around again.

I'm actually really keen on a Disney night. I also want a Pixar night, since I do have all of those (except Cars, which no one really cares about).

Wow, do I not remember that from the movie. I think I only saw it once. You know, there's this one scene where she's hypnotized and climbs the tower and pricks her finger? And I'm not joking about this, but that scene is so full of psychosexual tension that even as a child it made me squidgily uncomfortable to watch it with my parents. I mean--she's being hypnotized so she can't control herself and just has to prick herself, and it's so deliberately a symbolic rape--or actually, it's more like a rape fantasy. It's this close to sex pollen, I'm telling you.

That's from Sleeping Beauty. Also, LOL at sex pollen, as arcane_the_sage brought that into the discussion of inter-generational romance. It doesn't forgive the problems with written IGR (boy, am I getting tired of writing the full thing), just like it doesn't really fix any of the other folk who fall prey to it, but it's such a classic staple. And now you've gone and found it in Disney. Well done.

Right. Whoops! Clearly I didn't watch Cinderella much either, though I have no clear reason for that. And sex pollen is an excuse for forcing (in a story) any romance that doesn't make any sense given the characters.

The third one in the series by that author turned into porn! Just not either of the two she linked.

Anyway, joandarck has some fic up here, here, and here. Only the last one gets smutty, though. What's with people writing these in threes?!
