ecmyers passed on word that there will be a screening of George A Romero's new movie Diary of the Dead on February 6th at 7:00 pm. $18 for non-members of the Museum of the Moving Image, but I think it's worth it since there will be a discussion (moderated, alas) with Romero afterwards. How could I not?

Thanks for the sympathy. I'm sorry to see so many are having such a rough start of the new year. I think the first seven years of Bush presidency must be catching up to us or something, because JESUS January has sucked so far. February is already one hundred times more promising. Especially if I get to see zombies! And, coincidentally this time, Shakespeare!

Hey, I can walk there, so why not?

Its not in Astoria, though. It's at the 42nd street AMC Empire. Funnly enough (i.e., not funny at all), it won't cost much more than it would to take in a regular movie there.

I'm so annoyed that I can't make it, but maybe less so when I recall what a joke Land of the Dead was. If you give it a good recommendation, I'll check it out in theaters.

I wonder what ever happened to Night of the Living Dead 3-D?
