Obama conspiracy!

Of course we had to talk about the Spitzer thing in class last night. A very good skeptic (not cynic!) recognized something interesting about the fallout from Spitzer's (presumpitve, last night) resignation. Spitzer had been a supporter of Clinton, and, as a super delegate, he probably would have thrown his weight behind her.

And now we have a Harlem democrat who will be governor. No, this person wasn't suggesting that Obama had anything to do with getting Spitzer outed (the federal wire-tapping program and Spitzer's own history of indiscretions did that), but that Obama now, potentially, stands to gain from it. Isn't that fascinating?

Actually I think Paterson is a Clinton supporter, which is why some people say this will help Clinton because OMG a black guy supports Hillary WOWZ. Honestly, I don't think it will matter much either way, except for us interested in winning the State Senate, who are fucked. *grumble*

Huh. Has anyone confirmed what the rule is - have they built in any sort of cut-off for when the superdelegates are designated? It didn't occur to me to wonder what happened when a superdelegate left office shortly before the convention...

It's just what was reported. I didn't get a chance to check Patterson's affiliation, but it looks as though you're right and he's cozier with the Clinton camp. Still, if this has an effect on the superdelegates at all--as in the late-stage change F's something up, Clinton's going to throw a shit fit.

Sorry, but what does she not throw a shit fit about? My biggest problem with politicians is how goddamned whiny they all are. It's like watching a kindergarten recess fight on a grand scale.
