The Answer to the Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe, and Everything...
For those geeks out there (basically everyone who reads my lj), you know the Answer. The Answer is 42. The proof that this is so is as follows:
$20 buys you 12 rides on the subway in NYC if you buy in $20 increments (a 20% bonus).
That's $1+2/3 per trip on a regular metrocard.
An Unlimited Metrocard costs $70.
The minimum number of trips necessary to match the value of a pay-as-you-go metrocard: 42!!!!!!
Just thought you'd like to know what we've all suspected all along: Douglas Adams, much in the way that Jem=Hitler, =God.
