I WANNA BE A BRIDE, AND TEH GAYZ TOOK THAT AWAY FROM ME, WHINE WHINE WHINE.

They do know that they were, essentially, Party A and Party B before when they got divorced, right? Yeah, the gays are destroying their (second!) marriage. These proud protectors of the sacrosanct right of men and women to marry (but not amongst themselves, only to each other) certainly are stellar examples to us all.

Keep it coming, "marriage defenders." Write all the articles you want, stamp your feet and scream unfair. The more you make public your tantrums, the more you show your true colors; you can't possibly enjoy marriage, really, if you can't deny it to someone else. Fucktards.

Oh, the real kicker here is the fact that, at 29 and 25, they've got five child (collectively) from previous marriages, and "Bird said she does not know what she will do if she should become ill and need insurance", which means only one of them has a job that provides health insurance. (The article doesn't talk about their finances, but I'm going to play the odds and say that this can't be a good time to be in that situation for them.)

And yet, they've decided to make a fuss about "Party A" and "Party B". Avoidance, much?

This is spoiled-child behavior, right down to the already-married-had-kids-divorced by 25 part. She's so swallowed the bride narrative--which determines her worth on how good/much/big of a bride she is--that the thought of not being a bride in anyone's eyes is enough to make her fail. This is just nuts

"Spoiled-Child" is exactly right: this is just another version of "If you don't get me this toy, I'll hold my breath until I die and then you'll be SORRY!"

What a couple of pedantic r-tards. I'm sure the vows they spoke at the altar used words like bride and groom or husband and wife. News flash, dumbass: you can be both a "groom" and a "party A".

But hey, why should I beat up on them when they're doing such a good job beating up on themselves? No insurance for party B, *AND* if only one of them is working, they're going to pay a lot more income tax if he has to keep filing as single. Good on 'em.

Their "rights have been violated"? Oh please. What about the fact that gay people only recently got this "right"? They should feel lucky to be able to get married. Also, that claim that her gripe is "personal, not religious" (when her father is a priest) is complete bullshit.

Um. I can't even remember what the forms said when I signed for my marriage license.

...I love that they call this "taking a stand". Aren't there better things to be taking a stand for? Biblically speaking (since she's a church worker and all that) what does the Bible address about seventy billion times more than marriage? Oh yeah, poverty. And suffering and stuff. And "if you ignore these people you're ignoring Me"... hmm. Priorities, aren't they a laugh?

Oy.

Dude, I feel free to beat up on them because they're being spiteful brats who might give more ammunition to a bunch of fuckbags who would actually make people suffer unfairly for it. So long as their whining could provide an excuse to make people suffer for real, they deserve all the scorn we can heap on them.

The best part is that they fail to see the irony of how hard it is to be unable to get married.

Did you get married after the change-of-form date? Would be interesting to see your records, mm? Are you Party A or B? (heh)

Yeah, good christians all. I like how they're sure the gays are preventing their marriage when they're already failed spouses from previous marriages. Jesus must be so proud.

Wow, that right there is a big bag of fail.

In protest of them, I'm going to insist on being called Ben's "Party A" instead of his wife.

You? I love. I'd ask you to be my Party A, but a) (heh) you're taken, and b) (hee hee) we're not as progressive as California yet. We still have to go by the retrograde "wife/husband" titles.

this will do nothing but draw attention to the type of rights gays are denied due to not having marriage rights. i love how they didn't even think of that when they started whining about insurance and hospital visitation rights.

Yeah, that's the kicker. They can feel the way loving gay couples felt before this act passed! Awesome!

It will. Their looking like total idiots in addition to that is just a bonus.
