I lack this thing you call sub...subtle...something about not blaring one's opinion, loudly and often. So this is a perfect meme for me because I will be unfailingly honest. My hand to the Great Noodly One's appendage.

It's funny you say you don't like the DOCTOR+ME 4EVR types since I never thought Donna was one but Martha was. I mean, yes, she walked away, but she also fell right into the Rose trap of being majorly in love (suddenly, with no explanation other than, well, duh, he's the Doctor SO I MUST LOVE HIM).

What annoyed me about Donna's going with the Doctor is that it totally undid her rather cogent point about "Hey, you're kind of a psychopath, maybe I shouldn't be around you." It also took her away from where she was making plenty good discovering alien secrets on Earth without him. Donna was doing fine on her own.

She did, gah. But I forgive her because she did walk away. And moved on. And had her own fun adventures with the Torchwood people. Rose never could seem to let go, and that's one of the things that really bothered me about her.

But you are so right about Donna. In the Runaway Bride she was all anti-Doctor and then, all of a sudden, she's not? All of a sudden, the Doctor is the one she let get away? Again with the magical dick here.

Also since I missed it earlier:

I got so mad at Rose coming back. I didn't love the actress playing Martha, didn't love the character Martha, but I still found her return less annoying than Rose's. Rose needed to stay gone tragically, or her story didn't matter to me. Blah.

I think RTD felt the heat from the Doctor/Rose shipper's torches, which is why she came back (and why she got her own Doctor to boot.) NOT FAIR ROSE, NOT FAIR.

I still maintain that if Donna couldn't survive as a hybrid Time Lord, neither could the Blue!Ten. For starters, he should be going stark raving mad being stuck on one planet without the TARDIS. But he was as physically human as Donna was and still he got to stay. And be with Rose (GAG ME).
