Yesterday was fun. Sometimes, in hustle and bustle or the complete boredom of everyday life as the case may be, every day seems like the last.

Then your friend comes over with the wrong DVD from Netflix, you have some POM-margaritas and pizza (no one has magaritas with pizza, my ass, John Crichton!), and watch it anyway. Good times are then had by all. Heddy brought over what was supposed to be "City of God," something she'd heard was good, and I remember it being vaguely lauded by critics (she's saving "Dodgeball" for her cousin, so should be interesting to see what she thinks of it). We got Famiglia's because we were on the corner and it was there, whereas the Chinese place was across the street. We got our order to go, Mr. Famiglia teasing us the whole while, and went upstairs for the movie.

Well, ps, Netflix isn't perfect, and she'd gotten "Diabolique" instead. That's actually incredibly lucky, given the billion of other possible choices they offer that she might have gotten instead. What's the difference, really, between one movie in another language and another? I was going to be reading subtitles anyway. "Diabolique" is also a really, really good movie, and I'd never seen it before, so I rather enjoyed the opportunity to see it. It was even better when, periodically, the subtitles failed to advance with the story. I had to stop the DVD, go back to the menu, and set the subtitles 'on' again so we wouldn't be stuck with "But I'm not feeling well' while the rest of the movie went on. Lisa actually started narrating, chiding us for not remembering our French, and it took me up until she was speaking when none of the actors were to realize she was making it up. The guy in the movie was so boorish, I pretty much believed anything she said that he said, even when it was like, "Yeah, that's right, bitch."

Life is good sometimes.

City of God is really quite good. I have a copy of it somewhere (I'll have to check if it's currently lent out). If I find it you could always borrow it ^_^
