Movie Meme Answers!

Wow, you guys know my movies! Either I'm just a studio whore or I never shut up about them. It's probably fifty-fifty.

1. "You like that, huh? Go fuck your sister."
2. "Oh, ho ho! You sly dog! You caught me monologue-ing!"
3. "Well then, I see you've made your decision. Now, let's see you enforce it."
4. "I have ears like a fox, and eyes like a rodent."

5. "Hey. where's the real mayor, wha' happened? Somebody shot the mayor, but they did not shoot the deputy."
6. "If it bleeds, we can kill it."
7. "Hey there, Mr. Grumpy Gills!"
8. "One of these lives has a future. And one of them does not."

9. "You mix your laundry list with your grocery list, you'll end up eating your underwear for breakfast."
10. "I haven't been in television as long as you have, Killian, but I'm a quick learner. So I'm going to give the people what I think they want to see."
11. "Yeah, in the sense that they, uh, fell down, and, uh, got back up, and started eating each other."
12. "You have a power I don't understand and could never have."

To recap, the ones not guessed are in bold:
1. Hannibal King - Blade: Trinity
2. Syndrome - The Incredibles
3. Eric Draven/The Crow - The Crow
4. Parker's Landlord (no idea his name) - Spider-Man 2
5. Mike LaFontaine - A Mighty Wind
6. Dutch - Predator
7. Dory - Finding Nemo
8. Agent Smith - The Matrix
9. Natalie - Memento
10. Ben Richards - The Running Man
11. Steve - Dawn of the Dead
12. Princess Leia - Return of the Jedi

In short, I'm not surprised that people didn't get number one (I think Pooch and I are the only ones who've seen Blade: Trinity, but I'm shocked, shocked, that people missed the 'wha' happened' guy from A Mighty Wind and sorta surprised at the Memento memory loss (though, in retrospect, perhaps I should not be.

I hope people forgive me for over-doing this, but I love this meme, I'm bored at work, and I've been thinking about all the other movies I left off. So, if you're game, I'm game, and here's another dirty dozen.

1. "Never before has the beauty of the sexual act been so crassly exploited!"
2. "Let's all sell our souls and work for Satan because it's more convenient that way."
3. "Now that's a real shame when folks be throwin' away a perfectly good white boy like that."
4. "Send more paramedics..."
5. "Okay, well, don't you think that the Samsonite people, in some crazy scheme to make a profit, made more than one black suitcase?"
6. "God, I would love to get laid before I die."
7. "No, no, psychopaths kill for no reason. I kill for money, it's a job....that didn't come out right."
8. "We're about to become the proud possessors of two million quid in useless notes because the queen doesn't like her picture. Jesus Christ, it's self, self, self for some people!"
9. "I'm not a nymphomaniac. I'm a compulsive liar."
10. "This report was brought to you by Sand - it's everywhere, get used to it."
11."Is everything all right?" "Yep, two corpses, everything's fine."
12. "How could I forget you? You're the only person I know."

Have at 'em cowboys!

9- Endless Sunshine of the Eternal Mind
12- Bourne Identity

I haven't seen one of those, but #12 is correct! Try again with #4...go lower budget, worse acting, that's your hint.

Still not sure about #4, but #9 is Fight Club, no?

[identity profile] trinityvixen.livejournal.com 2005-01-18 09:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Still no. It's a pretty famous movie, too. But you're going in the wrong directions with the line.

1: This is easy, as I was just spot-checking for my own purposes. Kentucky Fried Movie
5: Meet the Parents
10: It feels like Tank Girl.

1. Yep, and I figured you of all people would know it, seeing as I didn't go with "BIG JIM SLADE" because I knew you'd know that one. Thought I'd do better with Catholic High School Girls in Trouble
5. But of course! Good one.
10. Nope, less obscure...sorta.

Uh, if it is, that's news to me. It might have been requoted there, but it's older than that.

4. Is the original Dawn of the Dead, yes? The one with talking zombies?

9. Feels like it's from Girl, Interrupted - it's Clea Duvall's character, if I remember correctly.

10. Should be from UHF but I don't think it is.

You got closest with 4, but they're all wrong. I'll be surprised if anyone gets 10, but come on, 9! It's a classic!

[identity profile] ecmyers.livejournal.com 2005-01-19 03:49 am (UTC)(link)
I had to peek at a bunch of these, and I love the quote for 9, but I don't quite think it can be considered a classic. :) Even though it should.

Also, I have been beating myself up all day for missing A Mighty Wind. This after praising recommending it to Carrie a while back. It seems so obvious now! Wha'happened?

Well, 6 is House on Haunted Hill.
