trinityvixenSo, yeah, another rant for the week about this. You'd think...you'd think that the NYCT branch saying the system will only be down for six to nine months would be a good thing. However, this is only to restore, what, partial service? Possibly still no C train? The spending figures are in, and they're spending more on a stretch of the F train than they're spending on ALL IMPROVEMENTS TO SUBWAY SIGNAL SYSTEMS. Priorities get lost in the mail, MTA? I'm sure the F train needs the improvement, but you've just had a demonstrable incidence of severe subway crippling because of a fire that took out two lines, one indefinitely. Couldn't we route the money that way???
Grrr...forgive the angry rant here. I got up early so as not to be late and catch an earlier B train (no Cs, damn it) only to get on and be stuck at 103rd FOR TWENTY MINUTES. Why? Because there was an injured passenger. Forgive me for lacing compassion, but an injury so severe that the person could not be moved (hence the train could not be either because the person couldn't be offloaded) and they're even still alive after twenty minutes? What is this? Spinal injury? Heart attack? Crippling claustrophobia!?! Y'all have my permission and my guarantee that I will not sue if I get horribly injured on a subway that I had to be quickly moved off of or died because it kept going. No one is to sue in my name, neither, if I don't live.
FUCKING MTA! They jack up prices because they whine about having no money, excusing this because they're making the system better for us and then this happens? The C, boom, gone? Where the hell were the cops when that homeless guy set the fire? We're told on every goddamned train to look for suspicious packages, goaded by post-9/11 paranoia into suspecting every lump we see as a terrorist weapon, AND THE TRANSIT COPS CAN'T EVEN FIND THEIR FIRES WITH BOTH HANDS?????
