CAPTAIN AMERICA TV SPOT! And I don't hate the movie now! Granted, it's 30 seconds and at least 3 of those were focused on Chris Evans with his shirt off, so I was guaranteed to like it, but I really liked it. It's a good teaser. It makes me curious to see a full-length trailer and the movie, so it's doing its job. I was really worried that the trailer would spoil the pornography of the poster they released this weekend. BUT NO.

DaveDave and I took one look at the TV spot and said "Somewhere, trinityvixen is a very happy camper."

Well, that was the gist of it, at least. ;)

You know, I kept on-and-off being surprised by the Super Bowl being on yesterday. Point of fact, I'd forgotten that there would even have been a winner until...just now, actually. ::goes to look at internet:: JESUS internet, stop talking about how the GAME went and just tell me who won! Why isn't that, like, the headline? Sheesh. Anyway, I kept forgetting it because I don't watch sports and the internet will tell me (which it did instantly when I checked this morning UNLIKE THE NEWS ABOUT WHO FUCKING WON) which were the best commercials. Lo! There were no less than three posts at geeky sites delivering me trailers.

And, yes, Chris Evans is proof that no matter how gay I get for the ladies at times, I'm a goddamned heterosexual. It's really not even subtle.

The Packers won, though it was a serious slugfest.

And you can be bi--we don't mind. ;)

I eventually worked out that the Packers had won. But it took, like, effort. I expected to see at least a blurb on the NYT front page. It's not like more important news kicked it off the front page.

I like to think I have a touch of the bi. I don't crush as hard over the ladies, alas. There need to be more female superhero movies. That would solve that problem in a hurry.

Funny, I was just talking about porn with the roommates yesterday, and how I don't not watch it, it's just that porn-porn is not my porn. To which my roommate replied, "Yeah, it has to feature dudes in spandex." SO NOT WRONG.

I saw the trailer too and think it looks great. I can't wait for Captain America or Thor.

I want a more story-based trailer for this movie, but I'm a fair way to being overexcited about this movie. I need to watch out for that. I could end up with another Tron: Legacy. But it looks awesome. And doing the movie as a period piece is a great move. It differentiates the story from the glut of other superhero movies coming out (and that have come out). Good choices all around.

I know what you mean. I've been really good at not letting my expectations get TOO obnoxiously high for movies. I mean, I still get excited about them for sure, but I almost never come away from one feeling really crushed and let down. In fact the only time I can remember that happening in the last ten years is with The Last Airbender. *focuses on breathing and not going Hulk* And I agree about making Cap a period piece. Kind of like that animated straight to video Avengers film that came out last year, which I can't recall the name of right now, was priming us for it.
