A clip from Thor was released. It's less than a minute, and it's just a very disgruntled Asgardian waking up in the hospital and fighting a bunch of orderlies for...reasons.

I will note that that ellipsis is not due to my wishing to avoid spoiling you. It's because I played it at work with the sound turned down. The sound on my iTunes, however, was at its usual level, which means just as Thor starts throwing pit-i-ful hu-mahns around, "Hubba hubba Zoot Zoot" came on my speakers. I think I will probably never love that scene better than I do right now.

(Ah nom.)

I knew you would find that hilarious, being one of few people I know who know just how fucking funny that song is.

See, now that just makes me think of a sexless grey puppet voiced by Michael Shanks.

Stargate has ruined Norse mythology for me foreeeeever.

O...kay.

Stargate has ruined Norse mythology for me foreeeeever.

I'm sure this phrase, with [fill in the blank] substituted for "Norse mythology" could probably be used quite often. I, for one, can never watch Stargate because the guys from Farscape joined it and I saw a screencap of the show making fun of that and it got so meta I had a nosebleed and then a lie-down to recover. So no Stargate for me. Plus, after his stint on Smallville, I'm going to picture Michael Shanks like this (http://scifipulse.net/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/Smallville-Michael-Shanks-as-Hawkman-29-1-10-kc.jpg) FOREVER. And that is a hard image to scrub from your brain.

Aw, that was the 200th episode. Any show that gets to 200 episodes gets to be meta for an hour.

Also HOLY SHIT another reason for me not to go back to watching Smallville.

So somebody touched Thor's junk? I can't find the video. (Everything I've seen suggests Thor is very tongue-in-cheek.)

Haha awesome.

El Hazard! LMAO I forgot all about that video!

Et voila, the video (http://io9.com/#!5790713/watch-a-new-thor-clip-and-featurette-and-learn-who-the-avengers-villain-isnt-plus-total-recall-gets-a-heroine). I suspect Thor is less upset about anyone fondling him--he's a God, he probably likes strangers grabbing him in odd places--and more upset that he's losing a ten-on-one fight.

The humor has been highlighted in recent trailers. Methinks they're going to salvage what they can as laughs, but the director and star are going on and on about how SERIOUS and SHAKESPEAREAN this movie is. I am worried.

I loved this fanvid when I saw it. El Hazard was only so-so in terms of anime (though the teacher who was super strong was hilarious), but this video is insane--mostly because Jinnai was insane and had that LAUGH. Hee!

Being one of the very first anime series I watched, I'll always have a soft spot for El Hazard. I loved the teacher, too, but Jinnai was my favorite character. Now I want to go back and watch it again. Hey, have you ever seen Holic?

I understand the loyalty issue. I got very luck in that almost my first anime series (the first if you don't count Sailor Moon) was Cowboy Bebop, which is unarguably brilliant.

I have not see Holic. What's it about?

Haha my very first was Slayers, which is fun, but makes me groan more and more frequently when I watch it these days. El Hazard and Tenchi Muyo followed along with Trigun, Bebop, Dirty Pair, The New Dominion Tank Police.... the list goes on and on. Now, thanks to my anime-collecting friend, I've seen tons and I'm even going to my first anime convention (ACen in Chicago) next month. I look forward to experiencing it, although there are things I would like to avoid.

Anyway, Holic. You MUST see Holic. A high school student who's plagued with attracting spirits and with the ablility see spirits no one else can. He stumbles upon a bizarre wish granting shop and tells the woman who runs it he wants her to make it so he can't see spirits any longer. She does and the price is working part-time in her shop, where more bizarre supernatural events and experiences unfold. I'm pretty terrible at describing things like this, so here's the wiki page. The main character -- the high schooler -- is obnoxiously whiney and annoying at times, but alcoholic witch/shop keeper is fantastic and the show is very entertaining and interesting. Also, it's made by Clamp and features the distinct character design Clamp is known for. Anyway, enough rambling. Highly recommended.

LOL to death! I had to go watch the trailer with that song playing in the background, and somehow... it works out with the timing. I am dead. You have killed me.

I unabashedly love Slayers. Haven't seen the third season yet (though I ended up with it because my friend who owned only that season dumped it on me when she got a box set of the entire thing), but I really loved it back when we were watching it in Anime Club in college. My favorite was always Zelgadis--I love how cranky he was.

OMG Isn't that shit hilarious? I swear, I was choking at work trying not to give it away. Because that song is just too fucking perfect for no good reason.

It's the most recent Slayers stuff that makes me do most of the groaning. I still like the earlier stuff. Zelgadis is pretty amusing. : )

Hmm...have you seen Phantom Quest Corp.?
