I...don't have a Halloween icon.

I find my lack of a Halloween icon disturbing. Needs must remedy that.

I went into Bath & Body Works this weekend to find they're already flogging their Halloween wares, and ended up dropping waaaaay too much on Halloween-themed soaps and the like. So...weak...against...Halloween...stuff. Friends and family both commented, with an edge of concern about this fixation. I cannot say their concern is misplaced.

I had this idea, once, that Heaven is a giant house where every room is something different. In one room, it's always Christmas, always the coziest, most well-decorated, cookie-smelling, presents-unwrapping Christmas ever. In another, it's a portal unto the ocean, where you can float and swim with the fishes to your heart's content. I just really liked the idea that Heaven is a collection of your favorite moments that exist, ready to be enjoyed, whenever you and forever. I'm beginning to think my Heaven would have another room, one where it's always Halloween. There's someplace where "Monster Mash" is always playing (and never gets old), and there are orange, green, purple, and black decorations as far as the eye can see. A punch bowl is softly bubbling over with fog like a witch's cauldron, and there's candy and spooks to be had.

Until such time as I reach this Heaven, I will have to make do with my metal doohickey that slides over a normal soap dispenser to make it look like it's shrouded in spider webs. I love Halloweeeeeeeen!!!!

I think, if I ever have kids, I will indulge my love of Halloween to a ridiculous extreme. I used to be insistent upon having an awesome Halloween every year, and then at some point no one wanted to play any more. Halloween got skipped for a year or two because no one was doing anything and I was too old to dress up just for my own sake, and no kids came by our house in Yonkers.

There is a SHITMAZING Haunted House (actually several haunted houses and a hayride all in one location) up here, if you & other interested parties want to make plans to go. It runs for the entire month of October, I believe. hslayer and I went last year, and I was legitimately scared at multiple points.

That's the one we went to. I see there's also one down close to Woodbury Commons that we might check out this year also, but the above one was really good and gets consistently good ratings.

I ♥ Halloween, too. And so do my friends. This year's Halloween party theme has been decided since just after last Halloween and it' Johnny Depp movies. Meaning anything related to any movie Depp has been in. I need to start thinking about a costume soon.

I LOVE your idea of Heaven! I've often wished I could relive childhood Christmases and Halloweens and even some of the ones from more recent years. And just to be able to access any of your favorite moments whenever you like? Now that's a Heaven worth getting to.

That icon you're using hear is pretty Halloween friendly, I'd say. I've always loved my Zim one. : )

Halloween is great fun, thankfully most of us over here still quite enjoy dressing up for it, and Lauren holds a party every year.
