And in even more depressing news

I was going to try and post something less discursive and less depressing after my last navel-gazing post (it's not truly navel-gazing if you don't link to it!). One the one hand, I will succeed in being succinct. On the other, finding out that Channing Tatum is the person of interest to star in the already unnecessary remake of The Crow is about as depressing a news story as I could think to come across today. Forget it, starving kids in Somalia, your suffering is not as great as mine (and JESUS CHRIST, I AM KIDDING, OKAY?).

I will warn you that there is a picture of Channing Tatum holding a cock in that link, though it's not as NSFW as you'd think from that description.

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

It is your perfect storm! And remake The Crow? How can you remake The Crow? That just seems really disrespectful to Jason Lee to me.

Knew I should have googled it before posting! What's that about being disrespectful?

Now, the question I would want to know the answer to is "Why were you thinking of 'Jason'?"

Options:
1) You recently saw a movie/trailer with Jason Lee (of various Kevin Smith (and many other) movies).

2) You're still watching Power Rangers, with Jason Lee Scott.

3) You were thinking of Jason Scott Lee, who played Bruce Lee in "Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story"

Hee, I was thinking that she meant #3, since he's the only one of those options who looks anything in the same category of "like" Brandon Lee. I had a total, "Oh wait..." moment reading this realizing Jason Lee is that guy from Clerks...

I do this sort of stuff all the time. Steve McQueen/Alexander McQueen--even when I am completely aware of who both people are and how they are different. Sometimes I'll even be convinced I said one when I said the other.

Perfectly understandable, especially as [livejournal.com profile] xannoside has just made it clear how many Jasons Lee are out there to confuse us all.

And yet, his name is still Brandon. :P

Probably number 2. I thought "not Bruce Lee" and went with the first other Lee that popped into my head.

Oooh, the delicious irony!

Wow. I WAS having a fairly good day. It just grows harder and harder to take the project seriously. I'm about the most optimistic person in the world and I the very little hope I had that it could turn out to be not god awful has is gone. : /

The Crow sequels were so bad, they almost taint the excellence of the first movie. This? Makes The Crow: Wicked Prayer, with it's starring turn by That Guy Who Played Tank in The Matrix and Macy Gray look like goddamned Shakespeare. Channing Tatum is not an actor; he's a cardboard cutout that moves.

[identity profile] six-demon-bag.livejournal.com 2011-08-17 02:53 am (UTC)(link)
I stopped at City of Angels. Isn't Wicked Prayer also the one that has David Boreanaz and Tara Reid?

[identity profile] trinityvixen.livejournal.com 2011-08-17 02:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh yes, that would be the one.

[identity profile] six-demon-bag.livejournal.com 2011-08-17 02:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Then I'd say Reid is the icing on the cake of a truly epic cast. : )
