1. Total Number of Films that I own: Gosh, no way to really count. On DVD, I'd say in the 30-40 range, including what's in our drawers at the apartment and random ones that are on loan or at my parents' house. On VHS it is impossible to count. I say this because all VHS movies given to me before college are at home and thus part of general circulation. My parents' collection, including movies taped off HBO numbers in the 400-500 range. With DVDs, 600+. So, of that, I'd say I have another 100 someodd, bringing me (with only legal movies) to 140 max.
2. Last Film I bought: For myself, Blade: Trinity, though due to some technical difficulties online, Sliding Doors arrived at the same time. Blade: Trinity was the one purchased the latest. Otherwise, I bought Tod Browning's Freaks and The Exorcist for my mother for Mother's Day (she has good taste, I must say).
3. Last Film I watched: In the theater, House of Wax. At home, hrmmm, trying to remember. If a repeat viewing doesn't count, the last one I watched was Van Wilder. If repeat viewing does count, The Amityville Horror. Man, I'm sensing a theme here...
4. Five Films I watch a lot or mean a lot to me: Fortunately, this is basically the same thing because I'm a lunatic who obsesses. So, the films that most engross me would probably have to be...
1. The Matrix (duh)
2. Star Wars: A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back, The Return of the Jedi (those only count as one because I never watched them separately when I was growing up)
3. Sleeping Beauty
4. Rainbow Brite and the Star Stealer
5. The Crow

Date: 2005-05-17 04:45 pm (UTC)I love Rainbow Brite, but only because of this movie. I honestly couldn't say at this point whether I ever watched the series when it was on (this is due to revisits of old favorites from a video store upstate, which makes me question when I actually saw the eps of the series). However, whenever I got sick from grade school pretty much right up until college, I would watch this movie. I have fond memories of watching it from the floor of our old TV room with a bowl of Campbell's Chicke Noodle Soup, burning my tongue and swallowing against a sore throat from strep (I got strep every year until high school--it's my family's kryptonite).
Thus, Rainbow Brite and the Star Stealer is a classic that means that much to me. It's the movie I watch to feel better.
