Meaning that westerns are pretty much gone, but we tell the same stories set in space to deal with American romanticism and fear of new frontiers and, like, the "cultural other" (in genre terms: Indians).

Except that one sentence is way more coherent and cohesive an argument than anything I wrote in this paper. Mm. Maybe I should find a way to shoehorn that in somewhere. Nah. Who cares? I'm done!
