Or me, whichever. Two very good things have happened today.

1) I found out my vacation days that went unused...roll over. As do sick days. This is fantastic news as I'd had three that went unused last year. If I leave, they get paid to me in full, woo-hoo-hoo. This means that despite an impending vacation that will eat six full paid days, I'll have just about as many left! (a minor tarnish to this is my boss' displeasure at my timing, but I'm not moving my trip; the timing is serendipitous for my family, and I put up with her disappearing willy-nilly for weeks at a time enough as is).

2) I'm receiving basically what I should be earning. The total before taxes is off by maybe some $600 when I multiply it out, but that's probably covered elsewhere. If not, I will find out when I get the back-pay in check form. The good news is that I have an extra $120 coming to me a month, and that makes having to pay an extra $50 for the apartment a bit less of a pain. Still, will be living thrifty to live in the city.

In other news, I have had "Your Song," as sung by Ewan McGregor in Moulin Rouge, stuck in my head all day. I blame recent viewing of The Island and Aladdin for re-awakening this old crush: The Island has reminded me how cute Ewan is and Aladdin reminded me how much I love men who can sing. And Ewan sings really well.
