My headphones aren't working. Well, one of them is, but the other requires precise jiggling and holding to work. I have the $10 in-the-ear, thin headband Sony headphones that I've pretty much always bought, but I'm tempted to upgrade. My dad has a pair of thick cuff headphones, also by Sony, that he likes, and my sister Drew has got ear-plug style headphones by Sony that have some sort of rubbery cuff that expands to fit the ear and actually stayed in when I played with them. The ones my Dad has are $30, my sister's are $40. Is it worth it? I need to purchase these before I fly to San Fran--no food on my flight and no music will make me a very unhappy camper.

See, mine were $80 earbuds, and they're the best headphones I've ever had. Generally, I would say cost is worth it, provided you get some from a decent brand, like Sony or Bose or Shure or someone like that.

Well, I have these which are very cheap and compact (and on sale!). I think they're great, but I don't have a very discriminatory ear--and these are better suited for use at the gym.

I actually owned a pair of these. Wasn't a fan, but thanks for pointing out the sale stuff. Not expensive is a good way to go.

I use these at work, and love them. In fact, you can read my entire review on there...

I have the $40 sony earbuds that you talk about, they are very comfortable. They've got a thin rubbery thingy that flares out and wraps around itself that goes in your ear... it's very thin and very flexable, so it squishes to the shape of your ear.

(If you're flying Song, they give you earbuds and have cool inflight TVs, and you *can* buy food from them for about $10)

(If you're flying JetBlue, they have cool inflight TVs)

Earbuds are great, but they dont block out outside noise very well, i try to avoid them on planes expecially if i am near the jet...the best advice, get some cheap $10 sound blocking ones (think coby brand would be best...i cant believe i said that...i think i am going to hell now, but oh well). They are not the best quality, but with how many flights you are taking it might be best incase you loose them or they die in travel, and will block out more noise.

The ones that wrap around the back of your head by Sony are the ones i swear by, and this comes from the girl with 10 years music retail experience...they are small like earbud, dont fall out, and cut down on alot of noise and hook behind your ears....
