Best Monday Ever

I walked in this morning to find that a guy who works a couple benches down from me had a Serenity hat on. I complimented it.

Also, all hail [livejournal.com profile] deepredbelle! She betas, she writes, she makes me go all woogly at work! I am in the way of being much in love and stealing her away for an illicit affair.

Damn good Monday, had an apple already, too (went apple picking this weekend, gotta get through the bushel).

Did y'all make pies yesterday?

[identity profile] trinityvixen.livejournal.com 2005-10-17 07:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Not yet! There may be pies imminent, though, we'll see. Certainly, have many apples for it.

I have many apples as well. Pies should be in order. Myes.

When's the wedding?

Think he has a kid, at least one, so, not any time soon.

Sausage with apples and onions

[identity profile] arcane-the-sage.livejournal.com 2005-10-17 03:46 pm (UTC)(link)
1 lb of your favorite sausage (I personally prefer Hillshire Farms)
3 medium sized onions
3 large or 5 medium sized apples
apple cider (enough to cover in which ever pan you are using)
garlic (to taste)
salt (to taste, but depending on sausage it may not be necessary)

1) Slice onions in slivers and introduce to heated pan with oil and garlic.
2) Once onions have softened a bit, add sausage (sliced or whole is fine). Slice apples.
3) Once sausage has been browned to your liking, add enough apple cider to cover the sausage and onions, and add the apple slices. Cover.
4) After about 5 minutes (or after the cider has hit a rapid boil) uncover and let reduce till liquid reaches maple syrup like consistency. Then it's done.

That should help you get rid of some of those apples ^_^ This also works well with country style spareribs, but needs more salt.

Sounds tasty. What do you eat this with? Rice? Noodles?

I tend to eat this straight, or maybe with a peace of bread on the side.

For the record, I made this last night, and it was damn tasty.

I'm good with recipes, and I specialize in soups and stews. I've also been trying to expand my seasonal cooking skills and this was one of the first things I tried. You should see my candied peaches recipe (though it's way out of season for those). My berry drink recipes aren't bad either, but that's more ethnic than seasonal.

I wanna go apple picking but nobody here has a vehicle to get me to an orchard... I've gone through two 5 pound bags of apples in the past 3 weeks... and I want more... I want apples everywhere...

I also am loving Firefly... thanks for sharing your addiction with me! =)! Watched more than half of it this weekend...

[identity profile] trinityvixen.livejournal.com 2005-10-17 07:54 pm (UTC)(link)
We aim to serve, and serve up Firefly for the taking. You are a good fan, devouring it. I can't get my roommate to watch more than one ep at a time, though she says she loves it. She's all about 'delayed gratification,' whatever that means.

What can I say? Your fic was fabulous foreplay, darling. :P

Your email made my morning, actually. I think I needed that vote of confidence. And then a promise of an illicit afair on top of it! Today I win at life.

*hugs you and squees a little bit*

[identity profile] trinityvixen.livejournal.com 2005-10-17 07:55 pm (UTC)(link)
He he, it doesn't take much to win at life, but there you are.

I'll expect muchly of what else is coming at me. I think I need to start asking my roommate about how she does that whole 'waiting makes it better' thing...
