Jotham-brother-in-law is a God-send. This weekend, he repaired the wireless networking problems we've been having at my home up in Westchester, which means I won't hear my Dad whinge at me about it and how I should, miraculously, know anything about how to fix it. My Dad constantly expects that because I can ask the guy at CompUSA for a wireless router and then I can sorta follow the directions to set one up means I know all there is to know about networking, wireless or otherwise. Jotham is actually one of those people, and now we get service all over my house. On top of that, he replaced the hard drive in our computer upstairs which runs now!! Liz M always accused us of going through computers like toilet paper, but Jotham refused to let us trash the older computer because it was slow. Good on him!

Embracing a Life of Crime--This is a great pre-Firefly fic dealing with Serenity's original crew of four: Mal, Zoe, Wash, and Kaylee (not counting Bester, sorry) that has lots of good Wash moments, and some Wash/Zoe that's fantastic and believable--if you were ever one of those ones who "didn't get them right away" try this out (link leads to LJ group where you can leave comments--please do! Encourage this author!)

Book's Legacy--Despite the title, this is actually more of a Mal story thus far. I like this one for being a mystery story more than a potential crossover (let's just say it's not a coincedence that River's an ass-kicking girl in a Whedon 'verse, okay?), and Mal's voice is so spot-on. Just a little bit sad, a little bit funny, a little bit mean, sharp as hell.
