Whoa...who the hell knew...the guy who plays Lee Adama/Apollo in the Sci-Fi channel's Battlestar Galactica is British!!! Dear God, as if they needed to make him sexier. Seriously, I was watching The Frighteners on Sci-Fi and they had a sneak-peak preview of the second season's second half, and they interviewed the actor playing Gaius Baltar was chatting all English-like, then someone else was, and I look up and IT WAS APOLLO. Holy Jeezum. Sweeeeet.

On the 2nd version of the DVD set for the first season (the one which includes the mini-series), there's a hilarious conversation between James Callis (Baltar) and Jamie Bamber (Apollo), discussing how lucky Callis is to be able to speak in his regular accent all the time, because occasionally Bamber lapses into British-speak, with an American accent, on the set, makes everyone crack up, and screws up the take. The just because he can, Jamie starts saying "bugger" over and over and over again, in his American accent.

Heeeeee. I love it. It's certainly less scary than other Brits-with-good-American-accents playing around. The extras for Batman Begins had Christian Bale speaking about playing Bruce Wayne/Batman while staying in accent. Method actors, really.

I have that box set now! I am SO going to listen to all the commentary.
