After catching the new Battlestar Galactica tonight twice, I think Starbuck owes Apollo an apology. I don't think he'll get one. But, basically, she's just not a very good friend to him, which is funny because he's the needy/whiny one. Also, isn't it funny how the last episode that was geared towards making Apollo seem sympathetic failed utterly to do so, but this one made me feel bad for him and it was about Starbuck's drama?
And Torie put her finger on it just right--the last two eps haven't forwarded an old plot or set up a new one with old ones woven in. It's a bit sad because the character flaws we love in all our characters (and their strengths) are best told through their actions, not their flashback pity-parties (show, don't tell, s'il vous plait). I officially declare the "[blank] hours earlier" convention to be super lame, too. It just gives the writers fifteen minutes of story less to write because they can show five-ten minutes of the 'now' time in the beginning of an episode then jump back, then show clippy bits of the present we've already seen. It's lazy, and I guess I just got spoiled by all the good stuff that has come before...
