It's sad it has to come to this but,
Evolution naamed 2005's top scientific breakthrough.
( Weep for your future, ID skidmarks! )And oooooh
snap! Them bitches running for Governor are already posturing over what
they would have done to end the strike in New York City. One of the Republican candidates (Bill Weld, former MA governor) is trying to throw dirt at Elliot Spitzer for not using the Att. Gen's office to do more to end the strike. It really raises my hopes for his governorship that Spitzer's
spokesperson is this fantastically witty and sarcastic:
..."The attorney general's office has been in court every day this week seeking sanctions to help stop the strike," said Spitzer spokesman Darren Dopp. Spitzer worked to obtain contempt citations against union leaders who called for the strike that violated the state Taylor Law, sought million dollar fines for each day of the strike, and other action. Those efforts ended the strike.
"We obtained some of the strongest measures ever imposed and we continue to seek additional penalties. Our actions speak for themselves," Dopp said. "While Mr. Weld was bloviating, the attorney general was playing a key role in helping to end the strike and get both sides back to negotiating table."...
...Mr. Weld knows less about solving strikes than he does about running trade schools," said Dopp, Spitzer's spokesman. He referred to a Kentucky trade school in which Weld and his company invested which is now under federal investigation over allegations that the school improperly obtained federal student loan money... I'll say it again:
Ooh, snap!
