This won't rival [livejournal.com profile] ivy03 or anything, but I had the following dreams last night:

The first involved me being the bathroom in a towel brushing my wet hair after a shower when a woman showed up with two guys to see the apartment. Lisa-roommate tried to fend them off but they went looking anyway. I tromped out, pissed like you wouldn't believe, and the broker went into the bathroom after me as if nothing was amiss about her showing up unannounced with two guys while I was starkers. I tracked down one guy who was in what I knew to be my room despite it being a) cavernously huge, b) empty, and c) wall-to-wall carpeted. I asked him who this realtor through she was doing this, and his response was "She isn't a realtor. She's my friend's doctor. She just had to use the toilet."

The second dream consisted of me looking very excitedly in a guest book for a party we threw and finding Jon Stewart's name there, which meant he was my father. To prove this, I dragged [livejournal.com profile] viridian to Wal-Mart and forced her to wait while I scanned wooden pegs loaded with puka-shell necklaces until I found the perfect strand of midnight blue-dyed shell, which somehow confirmed my belief in my Daily Show paternity.

I don't need to do a poll to ask who among our number wants to see X-Men 3. The default answer should be a resoundingly positive. Even if you have your doubts as to quality (and I do, trust me), you're going to go see it because we are all geeky here.

So, how does 8:45 pm on Friday May 26th at the 34th Street AMC/Loews multiplex (where we saw Mission: Impossible III, or rather, some of us did) sound? I'm open to alternate suggestions, but I'll remind people that this the cheapest option within the city. It's ridiculously cheap, even. Right now, over on Fandango, I'm getting a total cost of $10.00 (when did they lower that crazy service fee to $0.50!?!) if you order online (and make no mistake: this will sell out, so buy them early).

I suggest we go to this show (neither too late nor too early), and make a concerted effort to put ourselves in line no less than half an hour before the show. I don't mind seeing M:I3 up close, but I'd rather have a nice easy view for X-Men 3. For serious, if I can't see Phoenix being awesome perfectly, I'll explode.

This is the part on Sprockets where you leave your answers in the comments.

ETA: The alternative proposal to this show/time/location is the 7:15 pm showing at the Regal Cinemas in Union Square. Choose your destiny.

Or, I lie, and I do remember. I was reading a decent enough Firefly fanfic, and the link to the author's LJ showed a BSG-laden layout (ugh, kill me, it was Lee/Kara-themed). I scanned her journal to see if there was any good fic, and came upon an entry linking to this community, which purports to be a site for the collection of fen essays about favorite characters. Said LJ author had chosen Starbuck, which puts her in my positive column for taste, at least.

Her entry is here. Beware of spoilers through the end of season 2 of BSG.

A no-spoiler primer on Starbuck for the initiated (aka a rant at the Kara/Lee fangirls and the emo!Starbuck writers )

Sheesh. I am ranting about fandom again. What a surprise. Maybe it's just that I am a tad defensive of my girl Starbuck. She's entirely too awesome for fen. She's like what Aeryn Sun could have been if they'd toned down the angst in Farscape. I cannot believe I just said Starbuck was less angsty than anyone, but there you are...
