Okay, foiled terror plot, very scary, but the article on the homepage for The New York Times online? Has some of the funniest snippets ever.

About the long lines at Heathrow: David Charters of Princeton, who arrived around 6:30 am for a 9 am flight to Calgary, was unsure he would make his flight, but was not making a fuss. “If you’re not patient, you shouldn’t be flying because things like this happen,’’ he said. “That’s why they have bars here."

BWaaaaaaaahahahahahahahaha!!! I love the English.

And the woman who wished it was still okay to throw tantrums at 40? Priceless. "How long is this going to take and what else are you going to do?" They wanted to know? A customer service agent for British Airways told passengers, “The only thing we know for sure is Christmas Day falls on Dec. 25.”

Seriously though, they better have so dynamite (oops, tasteless pun, my bad) in-flight entertainment for people, because they're leaving iPods, books, personal computers and DVD players in those carry-ons they can't take with. And, with the way airlines have been going of late, people are going to have to start shelling out more for flights because you better believe they'll take advantage of the fact that people can't bring beverages on board any more. Hey, it's alarmist-sounding, sure, but remember, meals used to be free on all cross-country flights and on many shorter ones that were aloft during meal times. Now, you pay $5 for a fruit sampler and $10 for a sandwich half the size of a hot-pocket. "Oooooh, sorry, folks, because of terrorism, you can just chuck those airport-$3-a-bottle waters right out here. Once we're in the air, you can pay just as much for a half-can of soda, if you're still thirsty."

It's time for Television Without Pity's 2006 Tubey Awards! The awards doled out so far: (1), (2), http://www.televisionwithoutpity.com/articles/content/a12243/, and (4).

(Warning: there are up-to-date, season-finale spoilers for at least the first page, so click at your own risk)

TWoP, thou hast failed me! Not only did Laura Roslin not win as best fictional president (this West Wing guy had better be FUCKING AMAZING, YOU BASTARDS), but Mary McDonnell lost to VERONICA MARS?!? Listen, here, you, Mary McDonnell shits out more talent on her days off than your average WB'er emotes in the entire span of their career. I guess I should just be thankful the voters came to their senses and voted Battlestar Galactica the Show with Highest Actual Quality and Best Drama and Best Returning Show.

But what was a runner up? Veronica-fucking-Mars (uh, and House, but that must have been a joke, because even I wouldn't say it deserved the nomination). FOR ALL THREE OF THOSE LAST CATERGORIES (and, for all three, House was nominated again--slow year for dramas, was it?). Damn it, stop loving Veronica Mars! I am sick to death of that show, and I don't even watch it! "Most Overlooked Show"!?! HOW THE HELL CAN I OVERLOOK IT, IF IT IS EVERYWHERE I TURN!?!?!?! boigrwti349052ajkgfsjkf222!!!

And, Holy Jeebus, do people hate Ana-Lucia. She won Worst Guest Star, Worst New Character, and something else. Don't mess with the LOST-fanatics, man. They'll fuck you up! Choosing between The Daily Show and The Colbert Report must have been hard for Best Talk Show, but they made the right decision (just like Jeopardy! is the Best Game Show, bitches!). How do I love that the FOX Network won Worst Network Meddler? I just found out recently how very, very far back FOX's meddling goes (do you know that because they refused to let Marvel produce the animated versions of Spider-Man and X-Men, as opposed to Saban producing them, that FOX went ahead and just cancelled VERY POPULAR shows? WTF!?)

On the plus side, House is the Favorite Character and Hugh Laurie is Favorite Actor. CHEEEEEE!!! Take that, Veronica Mars!!! Other favorite award? Show with the Most HoYay going to Smallville. Can I get a Ho-Yay? (ho-yay!)
