Aww, last Pink Raygun review for Heroes. With no predicted end to the writers strike, I dunno what else will go on. I may read the comics.

Spoilers for "Powerless," of course.

I am annoyed in the review because I hate when plots revolve around everyone being an idiot. That's not a spoiler, by the by. That's my outlook on the entire season. When your story is dependent on everyone acting, at all times in every situation, as though they're competing for the role of the Scarecrow in The Wizard of Oz, it's not going to blow up my skirts.

Speaking of the Wiz, though: I neglected to mention at large that I've been watching 'Tin Man.' (no spoilers) )

Boy, does this sound familiar.

"Well, we didn't get the answer we hoped for out of this report, but that doesn't mean we can't exploit the few gaps in the risk assessment and make crazy claims!"

Gotta love this one part (which is actually from the article as opposed my paraphrasing above):
“I want to compliment the intelligence community for their good work,” he said. “Right after the failure of intelligence in Iraq, we reformed the intelligence community.”

The cynic in me goes, "Yeah, your 'reformation' means you just restaffed with people who would tell you the lies you wanted to hear." The secret, long-hidden optimist goes, "Wow! He admitted there was an intelligence failure with Iraq?" The cynic squashes the optimist, however, with a mighty retort: "Of course he admits to there being an intelligence failure in Iraq. He just won't admit whose intelligence was truly suspect."
