There is a donor drive for the National Marrow Donor Program this Sunday. It's a cheek swab and a promise that you don't mind being put on their registry. It's something I've honestly always meant to do and a recent reminder (plusjethrien finding the drive) means I'm going to get it done this weekend.
I'm thinking of heading over 11ish, grabbing lunch afterwards and before I go off on a jaunt withfeiran. The more the merrier. The more = the more lives potentially saved, too. GUILT TRIP GUILT TRIP GUILT TRIP.
I kid. Info about donation is here, and rest assured that donation is entirely voluntary. Forever. As in, no stranger is ever going to beat you up and take your bone marrow and no doctor is going to coerce you. This is just something I've always known I should do, and I'm going to do it, so I feel pretty good. I hope it makes a difference for someone someday.
