May. 19th, 2006 10:53 amGanja suite redux or what?
This morning, I walked out of the apartment and was assaulted with the smell of incense (poor
feiran, you must still be affected) from somewhere on my floor. And, just as I was laughing about "wouldn't it be funny if this was like a college dorm and the incense was really covering up for the smell of pot smoke," my nose picked up that unmistakable odor of marijuana.
I really hope this doesn't become a repeat feature of our last month living in our buildiing. On the other hand, it would make for some good stories, like the first ganja suite.

saikogrrl!!! I have our Avenue Q tickets. They're not nearly so good as a month ago when I first glanced at it, but they're still front mezzanine, front row, which is--honestly--better than some of the orchestra seats (I feel being up higher often is better than being on the ground, and you're still really close).
But yay! I'm getting "class" by going to see Avenue Q!!!

ATTENTION NYC FOLK!!!
Is anyone in NYC interested in going to the opening of the Apple Store at 59th and 5th? There's a lottery for MacBooks that they're giving away every half hour. I don't really think I'll win, but who doesn't love looking through Apple stuff (even if you still buy PC, you have to admit Apple is TEH PRETTY).
It starts at 6 pm, but I won't probably get down there till 6:30ish. I'll go on my own just to browse and throw in my name in the raffle. Wouldn't that be something--to win a computer after going through all the hassle of buying mine?

Speaking of computers, I think Webley and Ambrose are very happy with me. Last night, I released upwards of thirty-five GBs on Webley and something like a few hundred MB on Ambrose by eliminating redundant files and songs I didn't like that I ripped, respectively.
I had no idea just how bad the duplication was on Webley until I went through the files that I originally backed up with the software and then backed up manually myself. The software seems to have worked just fine, only it backed up the whole computer--I could probably very nearly run an image of BuggyBug2 with this stuff--and I just don't need that. Why the hell would I want to keep all those sample music things or free pictures from HP? The settings of my old computer can't help me on my new one.
The duplication was ridiculous. I outright deleted the software backup, and discovered that the two manual backups had so many redundant files that I could chop my sacred mp3 folder without any real difficulty. The real difficulty will come when I integrate my CD collection, re-ripped into mp3s into the main mp3 folder I'm building on Ambrose. My plan will be to create a folde on Ambrose that I know to be of good quality and stuff I like then add to it from the mp3 folder on Webley until my collection in reunited.
Then I am totally deleting any file I ripped using iTunes. The music I bought from them will have to stay as is, but I refuse to use that program for anything other than arranging my iPod ever again.

WHY IS ANIMAL CROSSING EATING MY BRAIN!?!
I found out another of my roommate's myths was untrue and managed to fish around really fast last night by walking between acres and resetting the fish in the water instead of walking up and down the entire beachfront area. I thought you had to go up into the acres above the waterline acres. THIS IS NOT SO.
AND, AS A CONSEQUENCE, I HAVE AN ENTIRE HOUSE FILLED WITH FISH.
No, really. The second story is dominated by barred-knifejaws and two coelocanths. The bottom two floors are littered with Red Snapper and Large Bass. I sat and calculated roughly what this haul will earn me and came up with close to 300,000 bells. That will have to do, I guess. I won't be around for much of the weekend to play. Added to the 210,000 bells I've stored in my basement for my grand paying-off-of my debt, that's still 300,000 shy of what I need to be out of debt with that odious Nook fellow.
WHY DO I CARE!?!
I hate being fiscally irresponsible, I guess. I talked it over with theKathy (who assures me she would play the same way), and I just feel guilty spending money on new wallpapers or furniture when I've got several hundred thousand bells due to Tom Nook. I CANNOT DISAPPOINT AN ANIMATED RACCOON--WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME? In fact, I'm anxious right now wanting to go home and pay off what of my debt I can.
Lisa-roommate thinks it's my wild competitive streak in a headlong determined drive to get the golden statue for paying off my debt first in our town (and I can't deny that's a mighty appealing prospect). Really, it's just Jiminy's fucking Journal all over again. I have to get yay-many bells to get X thing here, as opposed to collecting 50 shards/stones/gems in Kingdom Hearts II (fuck,
viridian remind me to bring back Kingdom Hearts to you this weekend!).
But, with my guilt complex well established, I have to pay off my debt before I can start collecting one of everything else. There are lists online. I will find them and bitch them.
I MAY OR MAY NOT HAVE MADE A DOCUMENT FILE BASED OFF THE FISHING FAQ TO DETERMINE WHAT FISH I HAVE TO GET BEFORE THE SEASON CHANGES.
I need help. Mostly, I need two days away from the GameCube. I'm going home tonight, but I will definitely be at the apartment before I do because I have to sell three floors worth of fish. THERE ARE FORTY CAGES OF FISH ALL SWIMMING IN THE SAME DIRECTION AND IT MAY DRIVE ME INSANE...er.
