It's wondrous, how truly prodigious my amount of crap is. I threw out bunches of stuff, but not nearly enough. I'll have plenty to sort through when I get all my junk to the new place. I suppose it's customary to make promises that one will order everything when they move. I'm bound and determined that I shall do. I cannot possibly accumulate another two years worth of stuff without winnowing down the stuff built up after these two years.

I'm just worried the extra space will encourage me to pack-rat some more (I am already the worst there is when it comes to storing things indefinitely--I found broken shoelaces I didn't want to throw out because I could measure new ones against them to see if they were long enough).

Maybe I'll console myself thusly--if I need to clean up stuff or attempt at better organization, I get to go to the container store to do it :)

A container store organizing itself is rather meta. I wonder if that same inner turning metaphor could be applied to other stores. Could a clothing store dress itself? I suppose so, like when they change the models in the windows, maybe. Still, can't happen too often. Not too many things you find in stores that can then be done to stores.

Home Depot or Lowe's undergoing renovation would be a good one.
