Miscommunication
Apr. 4th, 2004 04:31 pmOkay, this weekend might have been a lot more productive if I could have relayed any messages correctly.
First off, I thought I was seeing Dawn of the Dead with Liz C, but I found out from my mother that my dad had seen her back at home, so that spoiled that. Then I thought Carrie was going roller-skating after her dinner, so I told Michelle it was just her and me for Batcave. It was deemed not fun enough with just the two of us, so she and Ben came into the city instead for all night video games (well, Michelle was there all night, but Ben went home, hopefully for sleep). What Carrie actually meant was that because her dinner was going to run too late, she couldn't make it to roller-skating an was thus still interested in Batcave, which, by the time I figured out what I'd done wrong, was too late to do as Michelle had left her clothes and such at home.
All this is doubly frustrating because I'd decided not to try and corral people for karaoke in birthday celebration because it was a Batcave weekend (another miscommunication at the Heights: Liz and theKathy both thought I was doing karaoke Saturday night, having understood from me somehow that Batcave was a Friday-night thing). Andy is having a party this coming Friday, so I can't do it then and the next weekend is Easter, so saturday doesn't work for a lot of people. Maybe I will do it Friday anyway, drop by and make an appearance at Andy's and then go on to karaoke. On that note, does anyone have an idea of another place besides Village Karaoke for it? I mean, nothing wrong with Village, hell, I've even been back there since my less than stellar performance with BSD and folk, but I'd like to go somewhere where I could guarantee a spot for a group of maybe 15-20.
Another frustrated attempt to talk to people: Kate! Darren! I swear, I will figure out how to use MSN messenger again! I haven't used it in so long, I forgot to say I was away when I left the other day! I used to use Trillian to put all the instant messengers together, but it was a bit too confusing and needlessly complicated in its own right. I shall perservere.
In other news: yay for birthday Tuesday! I'm probably going to skip Horror (Oh, the horror!), seeing as I've got three allowed absences I haven't used yet anyway. My family might be in for dinner, but if people want to fete, lets! We can grab the usual margaritas at the Heights, hit up Lion's Head for their awesome appetizer samplers and atmosphere, or, heaven-forbid, should we find a place other than the Columbia area? How about the Tiki bar Liz M keeps talking about? That would be kinda funny. And I don't have to be up until 2:30 the next day! Yay! W00T!
