Boston is like a toy city. Like Disneyworld with fewer kids and more Red Sox fans. A lot of Red Sox fans. I've never been crammed into a subway like I was just now on the T. Apparently, there's a minor league game going on now. And that was worth them all donning red and going out in droves. When we reached Kenmore, suddenly there was me and like three people still on the train.

It's like a toy city because the T is more like tram or a monorail, which is cutesy. The platform is level with the bottom of the stairs to get up to the cars, too, which is cute. But most toy-ish of all, are the signs. They're written in comic lettering--as in the lettering style you associate with comic books. It makes getting to the EXIT so much more thrilling (seeming).

Here's a meme!

Make your own movie soundtrack!

1. Open your music library (iTunes, Winamp, Media Player, etc)
2. Put it on shuffle.
3. Press play.
4. For every question type the song that's playing.
5. When you go to a new question press the next button.

Interesting factoid of the day:

There are MTA police in New York than there are police total in Boston.

Whoops -- that comment was missing a more. As in, there are more MTA police, etc.

That one I got from 772 Miles, a history of the NY subways.

Heh, cool. Just goes to show, terrorism not withstanding, safest city on the Eastern Seaboard!

Only the green line is a trolley. The others are regular trains, just a few cars shorter than NYC ones.

And the green line sucks, and is to be avoided at all costs, except when going to Coolidge Corner.
