Who fell down on the job and didn't inform me that Sir Ian McKellan was Chauvelin in a movie of The Scarlet Pimpernel!?!! IT IS ON THE NETFLIX, AND NOW IT IS ON MY QUEUE.

As are a billion other movies and, more importantly, TV shows. Since I upgraded to two DVDs at once, I figure I might as well get the serial stuff done now if I figure out that I don't want to keep a two-DVD account (finding time for DVDs will be difficult). And for [livejournal.com profile] viridian, I put on the Dr. Who. Be grateful, woman, I will watch the show and you can babble about it to me (instead of the other way around as it usually is--and, really, always ought to be). It scares me because that's one step closer to watching Angel. I start watching what [livejournal.com profile] viridian says to...and all roads lead to brickface.

Oh, that's the Scarlet Pimpernel with *gag* Jane Seymour. It's the one my friend, the Scarlet Pimpernel snob, swears by. But I spent the whole movie making insulting comments about the score. And it is sadly lacking in naked Jamie Bamber.

Well, I think the definitive one is probably the Broadway show, and that's only because it still makes me giggle all the damned time.

King of England: Why do you lot keep going back and forth to France all the time?
Percy Blakeney: ...frou-frou! Lace! Faaaaaaabric!

Meh, haven't worked up interest in that one, but maybe.

It's too brilliant to ignore. It's the kind of movie that I would buy brand new copies to give to people if that's what it took.

In which case, offer stands here.

You're like my friend who bought extra copies of this band's CD that she loved loved loved and started giving it away to everyone.

It's a movie I'd netflix, but not buy, so thanks anyway.

Sheesh. Okay, I'll watch it. I have six discs of Red Dwarf to get through first, is all.

Sorry. It's just really really good.

I discovered this only a couple of years ago, even though this film was one of my favourites to rewatch in my childhood & teens - because, of course, back then I didn't know who Ian McKellen was!

The mind does boggle.

I love this movie. Anthony Andrews is the best Pimpernel ever. And the fencing is wonderful. Even Jane Seymour is pretty wonderful in it, which boggles the mind further.

I'll take your word for it. Until I can forget the Broadway show, though, I don't know I'll ever love anything better.

And your icon is priceless.

Why yes, all roads DO lead to Brickface!!

But dude, even YOU admitted that by Season 5 Wesley was hot.

Of course, that means you have to suffer through season 1-4...

Yes, but now I think I understand why. Your icon makes him look a lot like Hugh Laurie, who I find amazingly sexy. So, therefore, if Wesley -(10 years/experience) = House, yes, sexy.

Hmm.

I don't see much of a similarity, but perhaps.

Really I just think he was following the rule of shaving and showering less often = more hotness.

Also evil. Evil made him kinda hot.

Yes the not completely shaving does make for sexy. Just not in real life.
